Katy Perry turns 42 today.
She shaped a major stretch of 2010s pop with Teenage Dream and Prism. Teenage Dream made her the first woman (and only the second artist after Michael Jackson) to score five Billboard Hot 100 number ones from a single album. Her 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance with Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz drew 118.5 million viewers and set the record at the time. She’s sold over 150 million records worldwide and holds multiple Guinness World Records.
