1/ Excited to announce the launch of @Cambrian_HQ 's inaugural $20 million fund to back the next generation of fintech founders! Incredibly grateful for my time at @a16z, and, now, exited to share how I ended up as a solo capitalist by way of community building. 🧵 👇

Our future #SecretaryofInterior will be a Native Congresswoman who went to Standing Rock and stood alongside our relatives to fight Dakota Access Pipeline. Let that sink in. #DEBFORINTERIOR

We can no longer keep exploiting the resources of this earth-the trees, the water and the minerals-without any care for the coming generations. It is common sense that we cannot survive if we keep working against nature. We must learn to live in harmony with nature.

Fox “news” and “opinion” side folks are credulously sharing a tech guy’s Medium post theorizing that the dangers of coronavirus are overstated and schools and businesses should be reopened.

I have a very close friend who’s a researcher studying public health at a major NGO, and he told me that this was THE week to practice as much social distancing as possible, even if you don’t have to go to work. I asked him to explain why. Sharing his answers w/ permission (1/x)

The hedge fund that wants to get rid of Jack Dorsey as CEO of Twitter should look at the data about what happens to tech companies when their founders are replaced by the sort of people hedge funds choose to run companies.

THREAD: Today I went to the public library for the first time in a long time. A woman came up to me and asked me to help her with the computer so she could apply for a custodial job. She had gone to the organization she wanted to work at, and was told to apply online.

Apple has handed the customer experience and their reputation as an inclusive organization over to a biased, sexist algorithm it does not understand, cannot reason with, and is unable to control. When a trillion-dollar company simply accepts the algorithmic overlord like this...

Happy Independence Day! American democracy was once an unspeakable idea. To challenge the divine right of Kings & aristocrats was to challenge the structure of society. The founders’ notion of a government by the people was incredibly radical. And in many ways, it still is. 🇺🇸

If I walked into Congress wearing a sack, they would laugh & take a picture of my backside. If I walk in with my best sale-rack clothes, they laugh & take a picture of my backside. Dark hates light - that’s why you tune it out. Shine bright & keep it pushing.✨
