I will say that I did go to Victoria to confront bad people. That’s why I went there, and that’s what I ended up doing. It’s just that I was wrong about who the bad guys are. I can’t believe what the public will tolerate or risk right now- but you can’t vote BC conservative.

Gavin, you don’t get to just “take the signs down” and magically pretend you weren’t a super shitty person and your behaviour was somehow permitted under special “election time” or “political” rules, we are supposed to be non shitty people all the time. Remember that? Before we got elected? Bring back old Gavin. And new Gavin needs to make a list and start apologizing, whatever the election results are.

Maybe if women like you who were witness to this BS for forty years spoke up more, young women like me wouldn’t having to be dealing with it ourselves here today in 2026. Don’t be proud you witnessed bad shit and didn’t say anything, there’s nothing to be proud of about that and it’s a bad part of political culture- being praised for being quiet about things that shouldn’t be happening.

I’m compelled to address a matter from quite some time ago. I was briefly romantically involved with a fellow politician who told me, and the people around us, that he was not married. Neither of us had any professional reporting relationship to the other. He wore no ring and kept no photos of a spouse, and the people closest to him told the same story: his marriage had ended long before we met. I had no reason to doubt it. That changed when his wife contacted me. I was humiliated, angry, and devastated. We spoke at length. She was gracious and forgiving to me, and I’m deeply grateful to her. We share the experience of being deceived by the same man, and I wish her nothing but peace. I have nothing to apologize for beyond trusting a man who lied to me, and many women have shared this experience. The apology is owed by him, not me. I believe deception this fundamental should carry real consequences, and that our laws haven’t caught up to that. I won’t be commenting further. I ask that you respect my privacy and that of his family.
