Notice how aggressively several centralized exchanges are coming after THORChain this time.
They know their time has come.
They get hacked, lose customer funds, blame others, censor users without recourse, and DEXes of course show the world that there's a better way.
They're scared.
False!
THORChain effectively proved that it is not truly decentralized. In May, when its own vaults were drained, node operators paused the entire network within minutes and kept it offline for 13 hours.
A network that can stop when its own funds are at risk, but refuses to do so when someone else’s funds are at risk, is not “like Bitcoin.” Bitcoin cannot be stopped. THORChain can—it simply chooses when to do so.

The U.S. strike on the Iranian elementary school was the deadliest American military targeting error of the 21st century in terms of child casualties.
Horrific.
This war needs to end – now.

Trump’s new sanctions targeting Iran’s aviation sector threaten the country’s medical supply chains. Just over 60% of Iran’s medical imports arrive by air.
Iranian patients will likely face significant harm.

We say this repeatedly, and openly, and want people to hear: we are an Iranian-American organization that seeks to influence American policy, which is welcome in our democracy. That's why we exist, and our goals as set by our members are to end the war, lift broad sanctions that harm ordinary people and defend our community's rights.
The Iranian government is an authoritarian government that generally doesn't even listen to its own citizens, much less NGOs outside their borders. It isn't our place to organize Iranians -- Iranians themselves are best situated to raise their voice, organize and demand the change that they seek. They proved it four years ago with the Woman, Life, Freedom movement. When their voices are not heard, when they are abused and killed, we seek to shine a light on that abuse and urge that it end - alongside many others.
Others are welcome to pursue different strategies, and to criticize our goals and how we pursue them. But there is nothing nefarious about our work. We want people to know: we are an Iranian-American organization, focused on American policy. There is plenty of work to do to end the war, resolve the tensions that led to it and defend our community from ICE and insane, counterproductive sanctions. We'll keep doing it.
“We focus our efforts where we have the most influence: over our own government’s policy toward Iran.”
That may be the only honest sentence NIAC has ever published.
For twenty years, NIAC has actively tried to influence the U.S. Foreign policy towards Iran.
That “influence” has pointed one way: soften Washington, stall pressure, and treat the Islamic Republic as a partner to be managed, not a regime to be confronted.
They did not organize Iranians against the ayatollahs. They organized Americans against American policy.
Read the line again.
They told you the job. They just hoped you wouldn’t notice who it served.

The latest Trump administration sanctions impacting the entirety of Iran's civil aviation sector are deeply concerning. Like the Trump administration's disastrous and backfiring war, this is an action that will have far more consequences for ordinary people who don't determine the actions of the authoritarian Iranian government.
This appears to have direct implications for Iranian Americans seeking to travel to Iran to visit loved ones, who are likely to see international flights into Iran significantly curtailed and face the risk of serious sanctions exposure if they purchase domestic flights inside of Iran. There does not appear to be a waiver for any purpose.
Iran's civil aviation sector has been plagued by sanctions that have blocked the country from purchasing new aircraft and securing needed parts for decades, ensuring the nation relied on old aircraft and was afflicted by a terrible safety record. Now, the Trump Treasury Department wants to supercharge those efforts, squarely targeting an industry that primarily serves civilians and helps them connect with one another across the country and with the outside world.
We are far removed from smart sanctions, these are clearly sadistic sanctions that have no purpose other than spreading harm and making Iranians and others who travel inside the country less safe.

I have long stopped being shocked by headlines in Western mainstream media. But every once in a while, I am forced to rediscover my capacity to be stunned.
Here is how the BBC reported on the US bombing Iran and killing people at a wedding.
