Haaretz corroborating what I wrote below: the judge found the settlers to be the initiators of the violence, yet still let them walk while punishing Andrey and me.
.@the_andrey_x and I were charged with assault, along with five other offenses. After being kept up all night and interrogated for seven hours, we finally saw a judge. He watched the footage and concluded it was clearly a one-sided attack and that we were the victims. His response was to ban us from the West Bank for two months, let the police keep my phone, and bring no charges against the settlers he had just watched attack us.

🚨 “Why aren’t you arresting them? They’re right here!”
Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian olive pickers and foreign solidarity activists in Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, on Friday, beating and injuring several people. Israeli soldiers arrested one of the activists while leaving the settler assailants untouched.
In footage filmed by Drop Site contributor Mutasem Sqf Elhait, another activist confronts the soldiers while the settlers remain at the scene: “If you’re making arrests, then can you arrest the people who hit him and beat him up? There are videos of everything.”
Jaafar Hamayel, Fatah secretary in Ramallah and al-Bireh, told Drop Site that settlers attacked the harvesters from multiple directions while soldiers protected them. “One Jewish solidarity activist stood in front of them to protect a woman who was picking olives. He was assaulted and injured in his face and mouth, and his teeth were damaged,” he said. “The army should be forcing the settlers to leave, not forcing us off our own land.”
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission has documented more than 500 settler attacks on the olive harvest across the occupied West Bank since the harvest season began in early October.

UN Commissioner Chris Sidoti explained why so many children have been killed and injured in Gaza, pointing to two factors. The first is Israel’s military strategy of total destruction since October 7, 2023.
The second, he said, is that Israeli forces deliberately targeted children, citing two brothers aged 9 and 10 killed by an Israeli drone while gathering firewood for their family, about 100 meters from the yellow line.
The commission concluded that the killing of children was deliberate, not accidental, a conclusion that rests on eyewitness testimony, video, satellite images, medical reports, and the posts of Israeli soldiers themselves.

My country, France, is sinking further each day into a system of governance that is authoritarian and destructive to liberty.
Placing activists who oppose their government’s policies under house arrest is an attempt to intimidate and frighten any form of dissent.
Equating their activism with terrorism is revolting, scandalous, and reminiscent of the worst authoritarian regimes around the world.
Resistance is more necessary than ever to defend the values of liberty and solidarity in our country.

Human rights experts have long warned that the repression of anti-apartheid/anti-genocide protests REVEALED a system in which Israel's apartheid inspires western democracy: rights for some; punishing criticism\dissent; securitizing/militarizing life; tolerance of racist ideology.

One of the most evil, cunning men in the world—the settler activist. terrorist, and (actual) murderer Elisha Yered—who I’ve been writing about for years, just called me an antisemitic “journalist” while gloating about my arrest. A true badge of honor.

Activist and journalist Andrey X says he was nearly killed in an extremist Israeli settler attack in Masafer Yatta, occupied West Bank, after documenting the settlers restricting access to more than 20 Palestinian communities by locking a gate and trapping entire families.
He said settler Tomer Liani repeatedly smashed his head against the ground, while Israeli occupation forces and police blocked ambulances and prevented him from receiving hospital treatment.
Andrey says he and other activists had exposed settlers Tomer Liani, Shimon Atia and Nevo Nadalski directly committing crimes against humanity against Palestinian communities, and were punished by Israeli occupation authorities.

Italians refuse to stay silent and sit idle in the face of a genocide and the normalisation of war.
The global awakening has started and so the peaceful uprising against the globalisation of Apartheid.
Together we are ONE, standing for peace, human rights & love for one another.
🇮🇹 Tens of thousands of workers, students, truckers and farmers marched in more than 40 Italian cities on Friday in a general strike against soaring living costs, rearmament and European support for wars in the Middle East, including the genocide in Gaza, according to Italian news agency Adnkronos.
Police counted 30,000 in Milan, where marchers shut down the eastern ring road for three hours, while organizers claimed over 100,000, according to Italian broadcaster TGCom24. A speaker in Turin put the crowd there at more than 50,000. The grassroots union USB, which called the strike, claimed 2 million nationwide showed up to challenge Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's "war economy."
Protesters blocked the port in Genoa with burning tires, TGCom24 reported, and marched into Naples port, demanding that ports not be used to move "weapons, ammunition, military equipment and troops." In Rome, police charged about 300 students who threw stones and Molotov cocktails. At least 10 officers were injured in Mestre and Vicenza, according to Adnkronos.
Transport Minister Matteo Salvini had ordered rail, air, sea and transit workers to stay on the job, but the order was dismissed by USB as "illegitimate."

This is an absurd and outrageous decision.
What kind of society are we living in where world-renowned authors and campaigners are treated as enemies and threats? The real threat is this government’s assault on freedom of expression.
This is not an isolated incident — and the government should know that it is gaining a bad reputation for censorship and repression.
We know why the government has taken this decision: because it wants to silence criticism of Israel, as well as its own complicity in genocide. It will not succeed.
The leading advocate for climate justice and Palestinian rights has been blocked from coming to the UK by the Home Office. Politicians, academics and writers have condemned this outrageous act of censorship.

It was a real privilege attending Macklemore’s concert last night.
A few observations:
1. The arena fits 12500 people. All proceedings would go to help three Palestinian people. IT SOLD OUT IN 10 MINUTES.
2. Listen to Macklemore’s message in the clip below. It could not have been more inclusive, pro peace, and pro love. THIS IS THE PERSON THAT THE PRO-ISRAEL CROWD HAS TRIED TO CANCEL - AND WHO ED SHEERAN BETRAYED.
3. Looking at the crowd, the stadium was packed with Brits of all backgrounds and races who were all there for the music AND for the cause of Palestine. Their dedication was impressive. I suspect most of them were unaware of the situation just 4 years ago. But the genocide has been a FORMATIVE experience for them, particularly for the young. The Palestinian cause will remain with them for the REST OF THEIR LIVES, I suspect, just as the anti-apartheid fight has for those who combated apartheid South Africa in the 70s and 80s.
4. Israel is well aware what it has done to the Palestinians, but it appears oblivious to what it has done to itself. An entire generation of young people, including in the West, will likely never side with Israel again.

We were nearly killed two days ago.
Settler-terrorist Tomer Liani bashed my head against the ground repeatedly, then the IDF and police blocked the ambulances and prevented hospitalisation.
All because we caught the settlers locking locking a gate to more than 20 Palestinian communities, trapping entire families.
We exposed Tomer Liani, Shimon Atia and Nevo Nadalski directly committing crimes against humanity in Masafer Yatta, and we were punished by the Israeli police and court for this.
Israeli state terrorism in the West Bank is at its peak, and the authorities are doing everything to keep Palestinian voices silent.

Hi, I'm free.
Beat up but fine. Police stole my phone. Settlers punched me in the face several times, likely broke @AdeleShoko's wrist and gave @the_andrey_x a concussion. They threatened to shoot us with an assault rifle over and over.
Will tell the full story later, but for now, I just want to be clear about what happened. We witnessed two settlers locking a military gate in Umm al-Khair, blocking the only way to more than twenty Palestinian communities: trapping families inside, preventing students from reaching school and workers from their jobs, blocking delivery of food and access to ambulances, etc.
It's a crime that the military has this ability at all--but last night, we discovered that random settler terrorists also have the key. We confronted them and began asking questions on camera, and they nearly murdered us for it. When the police finally arrived, they arrested Andrey and me and charged us with assault.
The gate is still locked.

Even Syria didn't escape Israeli terrorism:
“Twenty years of hard work, gone in half an hour.” Syrian journalist Nour al-Hassan walks through what is left of an olive grove west of Mazraat al-Hanut, near the village of Saida al-Hanut in southern Quneitra, after Israeli occupation tanks drove into it and flattened more than 300 olive trees. The tank tracks are still visible in the soil as young men from the area saw the broken trunks into firewood and families gather whatever olives survived. Quneitra’s farmers’ union says the occupation army razed around 13 dunams of olive groves in the area and has stopped families from reaching the rest of their fields to harvest.
The report was filmed on October 22, 2026, the same day occupation troops stormed the village of Jamla in the western Daraa countryside, posted snipers on the roofs of homes, and shot dead a young man with Down syndrome. Syria’s Civil Defence says the soldiers then left his body at the border fence. That morning, occupation forces also raided homes in Tranjeh in northern Quneitra. Since the fall of the Assad government in December 2024, the occupation army has pushed beyond the 1974 disengagement line into southern Syria, carrying out near-daily incursions, arrests and land clearing.

Israel allows 2 million Palestinians with Israeli citizenship (who did not become refugees in 1948) to vote and run for office while it denies that right to 6+ million it has kept under a brutal illegal occupation for nearly 60 years.
That is not democracy. It is Apartheid.
Israel’s Arab citizens, men and women, are turning out in historic numbers to vote. They can vote, run for office, and serve in the Knesset, rights denied to many Arabs and women across much of the Middle East.
Our critical ally in the fight against terror, Israel, is the only democracy in the region, and today shows it.

We have written to the CBC requesting a change to the misleading title of their article "Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran."
What the investigation in the article confirms is that the shootings are linked by a multi-layered gun-for-hire network.
What is not established through the facts in the article is any concrete link to Iran. Instead, this appears to be entirely in reference to intelligence reports from Canada (CSIS), the FBI, and the UK, which have raised concerns regarding alleged Iranian-linked plots against Jewish-Canadians. These reports themselves originate from an American federal court complaint which alleges that two attacks in Canada were ordered by an Iraqi national named Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi with potential links to Iran, who had been arrested in Turkey and extradited to the United States. The complaint cites multiple conversations between al-Saadi and an undercover FBI agent. These are allegations based on undercover FBI operations, not criminal findings.
Given the fact that the courts have not decided on a verdict, there is still no conclusive evidence connecting Iran to the shootings in Canada.
Unfortunately, the article does not discuss the unconfirmed status of these allegations, but appears to treat them as sufficient evidence to support the article’s thesis, as reflected in the article’s title.
Reporting this as “likely” based on the evidence to date unfortunately adds fuel to rising Islamophobia in Canada, whose proponents use these anti-Iran conspiracies to normalize and justify anti-Muslim hate.
Today CBC published an article with the headline: “Why a spate of gun-for-hire shootings in Toronto were likely paid for by Iran.”
I was intrigued, as there has been almost 0 evidence offered for this claim thus far.
Unfortunately this article doesn’t offer any either, adding nothing new. CBC says they spent weeks on the investigation, so these are pretty pitiful results, at least in terms of finding evidence of who paid for the shootings.
I’m not sure why they feel comfortable with such a declarative headline given the lack of evidence (other than journalistic standards going out the window when the subject is an Official Enemy country).
Also, CBC and other journalists continue platforming police claims that they need backdoor access to messaging apps to solve these shootings, with no push back or critique about how these powers can be abused, including against journalists.
