I find it absolutely wild that even in the post-Weinstein era, it is still standard legal practice for victims of sexual harrassment and assault at work to be forced into signing NDAs. That stuff is incredibly important & in the public interest, and yet the laws haven't changed.
Replying to @backmarket
@backmarket You've sent us a computer that you've not wiped properly and is still locked to a school. I can't get through your help bit on your website, it's awful. Please help.
Super embarrassing. I volunteer at this charity and recommend buying their new PC from @backmarket to save money and get a great machine. Instead, we can't use it.

Recently, Israeli forces subjected a one-year-old child to abuse to pressure his father into giving confessions east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, according to local and family sources.
The child's father, Osama Abu Nassar, suffered psychological trauma after the death of a horse he used for income. While taking his child to buy supplies a few days ago, he was caught in gunfire near his home and forced by soldiers to leave his 18-month-old son on the ground and approach the Israeli checkpoint, where he was stripped of his clothes.
According to witnesses, the army then took the child and interrogated the father at the checkpoint. The forces tortured the child in front of his father, including burning with cigarettes on his leg, pricking, and inserting a metal nail into his leg, as confirmed by a medical report.
The child, Karim, was released after 10 hours and handed over to his family through the International Red Cross, while the father remains in detention.

Mandatory death penalties based on ethnicity but people on this website still try to say it’s not apartheid or genocide
#Israel authorities’ plans for legislation that would impose mandatory death sentences exclusively on Palestinians under certain circumstances fly in the face of international law. They are discriminatory and they violate international humanitarian law norms. We urge the authorities to drop these proposals.

Crazy that thanks to Labour I have to VPN myself to Australia in order to watch a short film about orphaned gas wells, otherwise I'd have to upload my passport to Vimeo in order to view it

He was married to a Us citizen and arrested at his green card appointment. His family says his health deteriorated because they would not give him the right diet to manage his diabetes. Rest in peace and may the bastards whose neglect killed him face justice.
A Bulgarian business owner who lived in Chicago for decades and was arrested during an immigration enforcement 'blitz' has died while in the custody of ICE at a private prison in Michigan, the ABC7 I-Team has learned.

Don’t become numb to these atrocities - there are not separate kinds of human beings - what is done to one is done to all .

BREAKING: BBC apologies unconditionally after gay presenter who was “sacked” wins claims he was subjected to unchecked homophobia in the work place.
The investigation found Jack Murley had suffered insults and mockery because he was gay - pointing to failings at “managerial and INSTITUTIONAL level.” Among many incidents, Jack was told it was simply a fact that he was more likely to die of AIDS, while colleagues suggested he use the back entrance because “that’s what poofs do.”
This language comes as no surprise whatsoever to the trans population, which along with the rest of the LGBT+ community, is now seen as the enemy. Fair game.
Even though this investigation involved Culture Secretary @lisaNandy and the highest level of BBC executives, it will all be swept under the carpet and ignored by both @bbcnews and the rest of UK media, due to their ongoing active role in promoting transphobia. Transphobia inevitably bleeds into attacks on gays, lesbians and the rest of the LGBT+ family, because the public are told it’s now ok to talk about us in demeaning and insulting ways. See @bbcnews fresh policy of describing all women who are trans as “biological males who identify as women.”
Well done Jack. Sorry you had to go through this 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 . I’ve included some of Jack’s story below. @RainbowDevils @AttitudeMag

You’d think that a Muslim man on Bondi beach committing one of the most heroic acts ever caught on camera might dispel some of the otherwise inevitable racist rhetoric.
But it won’t.

A horrific crime..
We have spoken to the child’s uncles and he confirmed that the boy was still alive and moving his head when an Israeli bulldozer crushed his body and split it in half in northern Gaza.
The genocide continues, with less attention.
He was shot by the Israeli army and still alive when an Israeli bulldozer crushed his body. 16-year-old Zaher Shamiya is another victim of the deliberate targeting of civilians in #Gaza, part of a systematic policy to strip them of their humanity and terrorise them physically and psychologically
If you've never seen a body crushed by a tank or bulldozer, it's one of the most unfathomably horrific sights. This child was alive and they crushed him.
