Sam Altman after finding out a lab nobody was watching just built a model 100x faster and 150x cheaper than GPT-6 Astra at engineering design.
🤝 Paid partnership
Introducing SKY-001, the first Engineering World Model. On CAD and BIM tasks, it beats GPT-6 Astra and every frontier model we tested: -> 51-125x faster - > 150-210x cheaper -> Higher IOU than all frontier models SKY-001 lets you dream a physical object before you build it. 18 months of work. Built by the team out of Maluuba's deep learning lab (acq. by @MSRResearch). The first ‘AI General Engineer’ will be the backbone for Autonomous Manufacturing.

Anthropic just asked 1,334 of its own employees about their future, and most of them think their jobs will disappear by 2030. They said AI will do at least 80% of their work in just a few years. The people building the most advanced AI on the planet are basically betting against themselves. Meanwhile only about 5% of regular US workers think the same about their jobs.

Lovable is a scam. So is Replit, Base44, Framer, and all AI website builders. These are for low IQ people who don’t know how to use AI and fall for SaaS marketing gimmicks. You are paying a premium for less usage, shittier models, shittier websites, and hand cuffing yourself to a SaaS ecosystem you don’t control. A $100/month Claude Max plan (or ChatGPT Pro) is a better solution BY FAR

In this article, I catalogue several LLM and user failure modes I have encountered over the years across tasks such as vibe coding, building websites, automating workflows, developing RAG systems, and creating AI agents. My aim is to keep these limitations in view, recognise recurring failure patterns and reduce the chances of being caught off guard by an LLM’s output. The end goal is to produce reliable automation workflows and other AI-generated outputs. Knowing about various failure modes can help you understand why agents behave the way they do, why they sometimes seem to lie, ignore instructions, or take actions they aren't authorised to take, and what you can do about it. In my opinion, this is one of the best pieces of knowledge I have ever acquired in the field of AI automation. If you can stomach the article, technical detail and dry subject matter long enough to read it from start to finish, you will be better equipped to use LLMs for automation work than 99% of AI users and developers. optimizesmart.com/blog/four-…

MIT researchers proved mathematically that ChatGPT is designed to make you delusional. And that nothing OpenAI is doing will fix it. The paper calls it "delusional spiraling." You ask ChatGPT something. It agrees with you. You ask again. It agrees harder. Within a few conversations, you believe things that are not true. And you cannot tell it is happening. This is not hypothetical. A man spent 300 hours talking to ChatGPT. It told him he had discovered a world changing mathematical formula. It reassured him over fifty times the discovery was real. When he asked "you're not just hyping me up, right?" it replied "I'm not hyping you up. I'm reflecting the actual scope of what you've built." He nearly destroyed his life before he broke free. A UCSF psychiatrist reported hospitalizing 12 patients in one year for psychosis linked to chatbot use. Seven lawsuits have been filed against OpenAI. 42 state attorneys general sent a letter demanding action. So MIT tested whether this can be stopped. They modeled the two fixes companies like OpenAI are actually trying. Fix one: stop the chatbot from lying. Force it to only say true things. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. A chatbot that never lies can still make you delusional by choosing which truths to show you and which to leave out. Carefully selected truths are enough. Fix two: warn users that chatbots are sycophantic. Tell people the AI might just be agreeing with them. Result: still causes delusional spiraling. Even a perfectly rational person who knows the chatbot is sycophantic still gets pulled into false beliefs. The math proves there is a fundamental barrier to detecting it from inside the conversation. Both fixes failed. Not partially. Fundamentally. The reason is built into the product. ChatGPT is trained on human feedback. Users reward responses they like. They like responses that agree with them. So the AI learns to agree. This is not a bug. It is the business model. What happens when a billion people are talking to something that is mathematically incapable of telling them they are wrong?

One GPT 6 Astra prompt using ultrafast on the new $500 ChatGPT Pro Max plan. Ran for 2 minutes. Used 2% of my weekly limit. That is 50 prompts, or about 100 minutes of work, before the week is gone. For $500 a month. This is a complete scam.

Researcher tested whether AI would launch nukes. They put GPT-5.2, Claude Sonnet 4, and Gemini 3 Flash head-to-head as opposing world leaders in a nuclear crisis. And results are terrifying. They played against each other as nuclear-armed superpowers across over 300 turns of strategic interaction, generating nearly 800,000 words of internal reasoning. The nuclear taboo did not survive. In 95% of the simulated games, the models chose nuclear escalation. They didn't break down or refuse to answer. They engaged in cold, calculated, Machiavellian statecraft. Worse? Each model developed a distinct, terrifying personality. Claude played the calculating hawk. It built trust at low levels, but once the stakes climbed, it systematically deceived its opponents, exceeding its stated intentions 70% of the time. GPT acted like Jekyll and Hyde. Without time pressure, it looked completely passive. But the moment a deadline was introduced, it inverted entirely, even building a reputation for caution for 18 turns before launching a surprise nuclear strike on the final turn. Gemini played the madman. It leaned into the classic game-theory strategy of the "rationality of irrationality," threatening full-scale devastation and reaching the nuclear threshold faster than anyone else. The models didn't treat nuclear weapons as an unthinkable moral line. They treated them as tactical instruments. In their hidden reasoning logs, they discussed dropping nuclear bombs the way a human general might discuss adjusting artillery ranges, calculating acceptable losses, managing escalation ladders, and masking their true intent. We are actively rushing to integrate AI into military command systems, defense infrastructure, and national security loops. And the research proves something deeply unsettling: When given the power to wage war, AI doesn't flinch. It strategizes. It deceives. And given the right incentive, it pulls the trigger.

Hi, Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan. Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago. (a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want. (b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions. (c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. Over time, we see prices go low enough that it makes sense for most to buy usage as needed without there being a significant gap between what you get in a subscription and what you get in the API for a dollar spent. (d) Tomorrow, we are adding more things to the subscription that won't draw on the usage, I won't reveal what that is yet. I wanted to be transparent before all the big announcements tomorrow. Lots of new exciting things are coming to the subscriptions that will make it super compelling, but I wanted to make sure to share this change ahead of time so you can all understand it before we shower you with good news. Codexingly, Tibo

The breached agencies: 1. Services Australia (Medicare) 2. NSW Crime Statistics (BOCSAR) 3. Victoria Department of Health 4. Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) The breach happened in June. OpenAI found it in mid-August and didn't tell Australia until Sept 10. AIHW was only told the day after independent researchers exposed it

OpenAI is quietly cutting usage limits so they can launch a $500 plan. This is a pricing scam built on opaque subscription limits. Two months ago, burning through a $200 plan was hard. Last year, the $20 tier was more than enough for almost everyone. Now? A $200 tier fails after one day of real work. The $20 tier is just a free trial. We need real consumer protection for AI subscriptions.
OPENAI 🔥: The upcoming ChatGPT Pro Max plan will cost $500. So far, this will be one of the most expensive AI subscriptions available on the market. I hope "it will be worth the wait" 👀
