Just returned from an evening conversation with the remarkable Rev. Prof. Florence Muranga, She is the Director General of PIBID and the related Banana Industrial Research and Development Center(BIRDC). We talked about a partnership with @imarathonug on Sunday October 4th. So this is what it is looking like-energy shakes at the hydration points for the 21km & 42km. And then at the finish we may get to give everyone a pack of their @tookeonline porridge to take home. So fingers crossed 🤞. But what I didn’t expect was to hear that years ago she developed technology to dry coffee in faster time than the Sun without affecting the taste. She invited me to take some @RugyeyoFarmLtd beans to her factory and we try it out. Listening to her talk about value chain organization to optimize raw materials, the history of nutrition & its current state, the altering of our eating culture to create food dependency as a colonial project etc. I could have stayed a lot longer to listen more! @stanbicug @OldMutualUganda @TMR_IntHospital @MinofHealthUG @Nivana_Uganda
