This week Clinic student Sophia Miller argued a case in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in a case involving a First Amendment right of access to judicial recordings of Michigan court proceedings. The case is Hallman v. Reeds, et al., 6th Cir. no. 25-2166.

Sophia Miller, a 3L law student introduced by @andy_geronimo, argued the case. And for Judge Sutton fans out there, like @whignewtons, he's on the panel.

NYT talk to one person who knows what they're talking about challenge: "So here’s the truth about Katie Zacharia, not-quite attorney-at-law: She graduated with a law degree from Pepperdine University in 2011. That technically makes her a lawyer."
President Trump’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, describes herself as a lawyer, and he called her “an attorney.” The New York Times was unable to find a law license for her. In an interview, she said the confusion is the result of a misunderstanding. nyti.ms/3UnhqMh

Lots of attorneys in the replies here showing they’ve mastered their states’ unauthorized practice restrictions but haven’t yet learned the lawyerly art of knowing when someone agrees with you and not arguing with them
