For #WildFlowerHour, from NE Hampshire, the winter ten - buttercup, periwinkle, alkanet, ox eye daisy, comfrey, yarrow, feverfew, bramble, red clover & hogweed (well there was more than ten, lots still flowering)
For #WildflowerHour a #winterTen - still flowers to be found (although I have 8 flower, snowberries & a seedhead), loving the umbelifers - the flowering hogweed & the Angelica (I think) seedhead. See alt text for names of plants!
#fungi - so many fungi seen over the last couple of days (the fly algaric are the same as those I posted previously, just looking older), ink caps, helvella crispa (white Elfen saddle) in the church car park, turkey tale & birch polypore (well I think!)
A collage of this weekends #wildflowers for #wildflowerhour
Fab morning at the @HantsIWWildlife AGM, interesting to listen to @MeganMcCubbin & @Debbie_Tann - but the star was Fiona & the talk about Noar Hill
My neighbours front garden has such a fabulous display of fungi 💕🍄 #fungiFriday #autumn
For #wildflowerhour - flatweed and a peacock butterfly & knapweed with a hoverfly
#fungi seen on my daily dog walk, loving the colours of the fungi locally - waxy laccaria and fly algaric #autumn #fungiseason

🐝Neonics are banned in the EU because they're toxic to bees but have been authorised for use every year in the UK since 2021.

Dear @Ofwat … it makes no difference fining companies like @thameswater @AnglianWater @YorkshireWater etc
All the bastards will do is reslap it onto our bills. And claim they can’t improve sewage processing as they can’t ‘afford’ it, while still paying dividends.

Depressing news that Govt may approve bee-killing pesticide despite election promise to ban it - & outrageous that British Sugar has applied to use neonics for 5th year, despite industry commitment to end reliance in 2023. Govt must act to protect bees 🐝 theguardian.com/environment/…

Starmer promised to ban it BUT ...
Anything not on sale to corporations and wealthy elites?

For #wildflowerhour, #stillFlowering on the heath - gorse, bell heather, marsh gentian (it was grey, and no sun, so the flowers stay closed up) and devils bit scabious - it was a bit marshy, so I may avoid the heath until we have a few dry days!
Although the weather has been grey & wet, there was a little sun yesterday, so I went to see if any marsh gentian were flowering. They aren’t open unless it’s sunny. Yay, was sunny enough & found a few #sunlovingflowers #wildflowerhour
For #wildflowerhour this week it’s #whiteflowers - a wild flower meadow with lots of yarrow with the lovely delicate leaves & these are all #whiteform! #yarrow
Join with us in NE Hampshire on Saturday 12th oct to meet with our MP @alexbrewer and let her know that we want action on climate and nature. part of the National Day of Action, organised by @climatecoaliton & supported by @GreenpeaceUK for more info; greenwire.greenpeace.org.uk/…
For #wildflowerhour #fruits etc - teasels, sloes, rose hips, hawthorn, blackberries & not a fruit (but looks like it should be) a gall, all taken this week on one very wet dog walk in NE Hampshire @wildflower_hour
In between the thunder & rain, the butterflies & moths are active this weekend, in greater numbers than for much of the summer. Here‘s a Hummingbird hawk moth from my garden, first one this summer #Lepidoptera
