The Senate just passed a bipartisan measure to rename the U.S. Post Office in Plains after Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. Plains, of course, is the southwest Georgia town where they both grew up and later returned after Jimmy Carter’s re-election defeat. #gapol

They’re making empty promises to do something that’s never been done before—while having no regard for the students that live in and around Buckhead.
We can do better by uniting communities to fight crime and improve city services.

The push to split Buckhead from Atlanta threatens the school system's property tax base and enrollment while diverting time and attention away from the district’s most-pressing work, APS leaders said.
Buckhead city supporters say schools will stay in APS.
