So I do a lot of animation stuff. I mathed out how much it would cost us with another prominent mangaka to make a full 24 minute anime episode and it was around $100 using current technology. Lets go ahead and triple that plus a bit extra because a professional polish is more than making a meme video, and will require reshoots. We can realistically make a 24 minute anime episode for about $450. Animation studios will die and these prices will crash. This wouldn't include our own labor, which would add another 16ish hours of editing, and maybe 4 hours of post. So $450 + 20 hours of labor for a full anime episode. We can do this today, and you could have your deliverable in 48-72 hours. I don't know what the mangaka charges per hour but lets go with what I charge for my own labor which is $120 an hour. That brings us to $2850 for a full anime episode, lets round that up and call it $3000, plus taxes etc lets call it $3500. That means a season of anime went from millions to around $42,000.

I might lose people over this, but some have asked me what my stance on 'goon' culture is. To me, pinups, waifus, even tasteful nudes are all great (just use the 'spoiler' blur here for nude). So yes, I'm a bird of culture. Call me a 'degen', call me a 'gooner', I am just honest and know what I like. If that's an issue, you can go ahead and unfollow.
