@VaniSabesanMD @LadyInterlocks @rkh_md @shouldergeek @generalorthomd How often are y’all dealing with this nonsense?
In the past few years, I’ve learned so much from my peers and mentors. This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without the tireless support of my friends & family. Thank you to everyone who has helped me to be able to finally say that I am a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Excited to be back at an in-person meeting again! Always great to learn from so many outstanding leaders in the field. @ASESmembers #ShoulderAndElbowSurgery #ASES
Holy retroversion…
Lots of options for tough cases like this and lots of systems to choose from. My plan is most likely going to involve combining a handcrafted wedge graft with an augmented baseplate and a lateralized glenosphere. @shouldergeek @VaniSabesanMD @AnandMurthiMD
Another great case from my first year of practice. This is a gentleman in his early 60’s who had a total shoulder replacement 10 years prior. He did well for many years, but unfortunately began to develop anterior shoulder pain and weakness.
Thankfully, his initial implant had modular components that allowed for a conversion to a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty without taking out the stem — great news for both me and the patient!
At six weeks, he was pain free with full range of motion and ready to head back to work, fishing, and hunting. Video shared with patient permission.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since I started my practice. I’d like to share a few cases from a year that has been equal parts challenging and rewarding. #shoulderelbow #totalelbow #TEA
This is a woman in her early 70s who sustained a comminuted intra-articular distal humerus fracture a number of years ago. Despite multiple attempts to obtain fracture healing, she came to me with an extremely painful nonunion.
Her arc of motion was from 45 to 90 degrees with pain, grinding, and worsening neuropathy of her ulnar nerve. After a few long discussions, she agreed to proceed with removal of her implants, release of the ulnar nerve, and a total elbow arthroplasty.
#orthotwitter Last patient to walk into my office today... @shouldergeek @VaniSabesanMD @Ortho_Trauma What are you and the other shoulder experts of Twitter thinking? Cole’s rules suggest it’s operative. Decades of reviews say these do well conservatively.
After a full day in the OR, feels great to sweat with the #PowerZonePack and watch @DetroitCityFC in the semifinals. #DCTID

Patients who watched a 5-minute video on relaxation breathing exercises reported similar pain levels to those who did not, despite taking much less opioid medication in the 2 weeks after surgery @RothmanOrtho #Opioids #OrthoTwitter

Some outstanding talks so far for ASES Virtual Specialty Day. I’m glad we can still learn from so many experts in the field, but I can’t wait to get back to having these meetings in person! #ASES #ASESVirtualSpecialtyDay #ShoulderAndElbow #ShoulderAndElbowSurgery

How’s everyone fixing their distal biceps tears these days? So many options — single or dual incision; uni- or bicortical button; 1 or 2 buttons; +/- tenodesis screw; suture anchors instead!? I used a single unicortical button for an acute primary repair. #orthotwitter
