Excited to see the tremendous work that my grad student @AntillonBea has done for her pre-thesis project. Beatriz is quantifying the secondary production, emergence, and return of aquatic insects from streams in #LaSelva. Some of these streams are influenced by solute-rich 1/4

1/3 I am excited about our project on high mountain streams at el Cerro de la Muerte, Costa Rica. In the short term, we are interested in determining functional, taxonomic and phylogenetic richness and its relationship with environmental variables (e.g., temperature). In the long

Yesterday were the trials for my aquatic insect emergence traps. I am proud to say they were a success and now I'm officially ready to start my project about emerging adults in lowland tropical rivers in La Selva Biological Station (LSBS) [1/3]
Needless to say, I am really thankful to @tropicalstudies for the opportunity to work in LSBS with a research scholarship. I'm looking forward to starting this project and contribute to the years of knowledge that has been built thanks to theirs and STREAMS' efforts [2/3]
Of course, this project would not have been possible without the guidance of my tutor @pabloguticr who has been helping me mold my professional career as a future freshwater ecologist [3/3]
