The 5th edition of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector is now available for free download in PDF, EPUB, and MOBI formats: antipolygraph.org
Ironically, this commonly shared GIF shows the exact opposite of "no lies detected." The finger is pointing to reactions that polygraph operators hold to be indicative of deception. (Of course, it's all hocus-pocus.)

We need to ban polygraph tests as requirements for public employment.
Talk about relics of a seriously retarded past that still linger. Lie detecting is a bullshit science and Law Enforcement, the field were standards of evidence should be impeccable, are still pushing and valuing totally fabricated bullshit as a job requirement. Like WTF? How can we as a society be so credulous and dumb?!?

"Psychologists and experts in deception have made it clear. The lie detector test cannot be improved with better signal. The signal itself is unreliable."

reminds me a bit of this article I found in one of my recent Democratic German Report scans, by a GDR double agent who infiltrated the CIA in West Berlin partly by beating a polygraph test, which he noted that the Americans were obsessed with and seemed to think of as infallible
Have spent who knows how many hours looking thru declassified docs on the national archives site and this remains one of my favorite finds

This is quite interesting because historically, the U.S. Department of Justice has not subjected its legal staff to polygraph "tests."

Today would have been polygraph critic Doug Williams's 81st birthday. In 2015, he was sent to federal prison on trumped-up charges. In 2021, he died less than a year after completing a 2-year sentence and 3 years of supervised release.

The FBI should be embarrassed and ashamed to be using such pseudoscientific garbage as the polygraph.
