Not abandoning this site entirely, but I'm joining everyone over on the other site - same handle, hopefully more science coming soon!

A little late, but I wanted to thank @JCChildsFund for an incredible symposium last weekend. I had such a wonderful time meeting everyone (fellows, admin, staff, and board members!) and hearing about the amazing science being done by my peers. Can’t wait for next year!

It turns out that cadherins do a lot of heavy lifting in muscle stem cells💪🏼! So happy to see my paper out in @Dev_journal and that's tree #2 for @WoodlandTrust! Please give it a read, I hope you enjoy the pretty images (and the important biology)💖 journals.biologists.com/dev/…

Many years of Maggie’s hard work, finally online for everyone to see!!! ✨🤩👏🏻
Happy Saturday! Our preprint on how apical cadherin-based adhesion in the skeletal muscle stem cell is critical for quiescence, niche localization, and maintenance is officially online🤩

Huge congratulations to our most recent lab alum @apkann for being selected as one of 2023's Jane Coffin Childs Fellows! We're all so very proud of you, Allison!🥳
I’m so honored to join this amazing cohort of scientists! Thank you to @JCChildsFund for the enthusiasm and support - not just in my potential as a junior scientist, but also in the power of emerging model systems. Stay tuned for lots of exciting Hofstenia discoveries!

HEY! Do you know someone that wants to do a postdoc in NYC? Do they think muscle/stem cells/the cytoskeleton/science are all very cool? Do they they live for a good bagel? Do they want to be bothered by me at their bench? If they (you?) answered yes to any of the above…👀
🗣🎙WE'RE HIRING! The Krauss lab is recruiting a postdoc to study cytoskeletal regulation in muscle stem cell quiescence and activation. The community at @IcahnMountSinai is vibrant, collaborative, and passionate! Please RT and share with colleagues🤩

Showing off our transgenic Hofstenia embryos for #MicroscopyMonday... I'm normally biased towards muscle, but the epidermal cells are just soo beautiful. 😍

Sometimes you just have too many ideas to fit into the Discussion section... Thanks to BioEssays for letting us write this really fun paper. Not only did we review some exciting MuSC biology, but we also got to speculate wildly about things we don't really have data for (yet)!
Replying to @apkann
@apkann may be gone (to @acoel_hofstenia/@HarvardOEB), but she’s not forgotten! Allison and Rob's new BioEssays piece gives perspectives on the dynamism of MuSC projections and how it may provide new insights into MuSCs and their niche Read here: bit.ly/3JG2uk5

Sharing hypotheses and speculation in the absence of data can be scary (there's always the possibility that we're completely and publicly wrong), but there are so many questions that we just don't have the tools to answer yet and I wish there were more venues to discuss them!
