This afternoon, two adults fishing near Panther Beach were swept into the Pacific and unable to get out on their own. CAL FIRE was first on scene. Santa Cruz Fire and State Parks rescuers brought both from the water. A CAL FIRE Fire Hawk lifted them up the cliff for medical care. Both were hospitalized.
Never turn your back on the ocean. Waves and currents can change quickly, especially near rocks and cliffs. Stay back from the water’s edge and follow posted warnings.
