CASP14 #s just came out and they’re astounding—DeepMind looks to have solved protein structure prediction. Median GDT_TS went from 68.5 (CASP13) to 92.4!!!! Cf. their 2nd best CASP13 struct scored 92.8 (out of 100). Median RMSD is 2.1Å. I think it's over predictioncenter.org/casp14/…

@MoleculeOne has just released code for MEGAN - a model that generates chemical reactions: github.com/molecule-one/mega…. We invite everyone interested to test it and reproduce our results. #compchem #machinelearning #ai #synthesis

Check out our newest retrosynthesis model: MEGAN, achieving SOTA on standard benchmarks. It will start supporting users on our platform very soon.
Excellent work led by @mikolajsacha and advised by @kudkudakpl.
Representing a reaction as a sequence of graph edits is more natural, but difficult for DNNs 🤔. We successfully applied this idea to retrosynthesis and large datasets. We propose MEGAN and show SOTA top-k accuracy for K>=10 on retro and forward synthesis. arxiv.org/abs/2006.15426

ALT “Yet somehow arguments grounded in production code are rare. Few people seem willing to lift the curtain on such codebases, which is a damn shame. Because that’s where the real wisdom is buried. That’s where people have been forced to make actual trade-offs between competing patterns and practices. It’s those trade-offs and the circumstances around them that are valuable.” from “On Writing Software Well” by DHH.

this is a gently reminder that you don't need arrow functions or even method.bind to preserve an instance context since at least year 2000.
