When you think of "quiet luxury," you're thinking of The Row. They never advertise. They barely do press. But they're your favorite fashionista's favorite label. This is the story of two mogul designers who silenced critics and created one of the most coveted brands on earth:🪡

Hiring out of agencies is best. Lots and lots of brand people don’t do real work. They just hire and manage the agency. I’ve seen this first hand with a dozen large companies. The bigger the company, the worse it is. That cool brand director from Nike? Their job is meetings and briefs. They haven’t held a camera in 6 years. They haven’t opened photoshop in 3. And you expect them to come make an impact at your 20m a year dtc brand? They don’t even know how to log into ads manager, let alone what makes a good ad. The best talent is locked up in agencies. That’s where the best practices are practiced

Salt & Stone founder Nima Jalali's advice for people starting their own companies: "Go all-in. You can't [have] work-life balance, you can't want to check out at 5. Because there's going to be someone right behind you that's going to come and take your place." "You have to make sure you love it. Because that's the way you're going to be able to do it around the clock, from the moment you wake up to when you go to sleep." "Forget the work-life balance stuff. You have to go hard, and you have to go all-in. And just use your instincts. Be competitive. Go after the big guys. Don't be afraid."

This beverage companies launched 2 years ago and will do $70M+ in revenue this year. Here are their numbers: I’m fired up to have @AaronJNosbisch back on stage at the Q4 Summit for the second year in a row. Last year he broke down how he launched Brez. This year, on track to do $70M+ in revenue, profitably, he’s coming to share his exact Q4 playbook : tactics, tools, workflows, and the stuff he doesn’t post online. If you’re a brand in NYC, grab a free ticket at the link in the comments. September 16 • Webster Hall Breakfast from 8:30am and an invite-only brand happy hour to close the day.

People ask me how Workweek and the creators are doing with monetization. It’s a funny question because with a small amount of homework you can see how things are going. Here are some of our sponsors from this week. What do you think the answer is? 📈

The year is 1984 and the NBA has banned Michael Jordan from wearing his Nikes. For any other brand, that’s game over. But for Nike? It was a slam dunk opportunity. Here’s how a shoe ban made the Air Jordan a cultural icon. 🧵

There are so many brands doing 8-figures in revenue & not taking advantage of neighboring countries In 2022, cross-border e-commerce accounted for 22% of e-commerce shipments, totaling over $3.5 trillion. According to another report, 32% of brands only fulfill orders within their home/origin country and don’t plan to expand. In 2 weeks, me, @arihappywick, @AlexYancher & Alex (COO of @Ogee) are sitting down to go through international expansion and our playbook for it: 📦 What you need to understand for shipping/logistics, including last mile delivery with local carriers. 🌏 How to turn on/off the marketing engines, manage multiple websites, etc. ✈️ When to lean into local culture and when to stand on your own brand It’s a free (virtual) event, sign up on the link below, and we’ll send you the recording too. Don’t miss out on a golden opportunity because you don’t learn the in’s and out’s! PS — if you don’t have time to watch the recording, I would take the video we send, put it into chat GPT and ask for a summary, then ask questions. lu.ma/mv712s9k?utm_source=Tw…
