i guess it's not a race if i'm not making this signature abby scrunch face
(thank you to amazing teammate and photographer @ariscott for documenting my trials on the track)
Li'l Q. Has your life gone as planned? Have you strayed massively and almost embarrassingly far from where you thought you'd be by now? Just trying to figure out whether or not I'm weird (in a bad way).
One memory that sticks with me is a kids "newspaper" we read in school in the 80s and it said by the year 2000 every single person in the U.S. was going to get around on rollerblades
I now have the distinction of having written an op-ed for the New York Times about the death of my mother *and* being rejected as a freelance writer for a well-known food site because my test article 'How Snickers Candy Bar Got Its Name' "lacked depth"
So I've given this a lot of thought and I really don't care if any haters disagree with me: I think it's okay to call a girl dog "Buddy"
I love being single and don't miss being in a relationship but sometimes I do miss saying "am I worrying over nothing?" and someone saying "yeah everything's gonna be fine" and then I say "okay thanks"
Three years ago today, my dad played the dumbest April Fool's joke and died from COVID-19. Just wanted to remind everyone that he was an incredibly lovely guy, despite the very bad April Fool's joke.

My father Charles Scott was a fan of CNN and @wolfblitzer, so it was extra special to hear Wolf mention my dad’s name tonight.
Thank you to Wolf and @CNNSitRoom for the important reminder that COVID-19 isn’t just a line graph — it affects real people and families. ❤️
Not an author, but in my 20s I was a singer/songwriter, and I recall distinctly a couple shows where the entire audience was my boyfriend.
Also had a few shows in bars where the only people paying attention were my absolutely fantastic parents.

if you think about it though, it really is kinda crazy to pay all your rent and bills with money people paid you for squeezing your brain and thinking up words to print (and also for confirming the accuracy of other peoples words and related word-focused tasks).
What's wrong with ending up alone? No one eats your food or poops in your toilet and you can sleep like a starfish
