On 25 October, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ararat Mirzoyan, delivered opening remarks at the Business and Biodiversity Forum held as part of COP17.
In his address, he highlighted the importance of aligning economic development with biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration, emphasizing the role of businesses in advancing sustainable growth.
Particular attention was given to creating policies that encourage nature-positive business practices, mobilizing financing and technology, and strengthening accountability to achieve measurable results.

On 16 October, at the conclusion of the plenary session of the Leaders for Nature Summit, the Yerevan Declaration - Taking Action for Nature was delivered.
The Declaration reaffirms commitment to the implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, including the mission to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 and achieve the vision of living in harmony with nature by 2050.

During his 🇨🇦 working visit, 🇦🇲 Environment Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan met in 📍Ottawa with Canada’s Environment Minister @juliedabrusin and Secretary of State for Nature Nathalie Provost.
They discussed COP17 preparations, its agenda and Armenia’s priorities as Presidency.
🇦🇲 In Ottawa, Minister Matevosyan was also hosted by Ambassador @HaAnahit.
🦋 In Montreal, Minister Matevosyan joined the “CBD COP17 Endgame” seminar and met with @SchomakerAstrid, Executive Secretary of @UNBiodiversity.
🌱 Discussions focused on the final phase of COP17 negotiations, trust and consensus among Parties.
