The sun must be hell on every Mikaboshi and especially Shurin I don’t know if Hkzn will commit fully to the albinism beyond aesthetics, but if he did, I’d feel really bad Shurin may be risking overexerting himself to prove his worth

The framing of the very last panel in the recent Bachi chapter is interesting The perspective makes Ariu the smallest one, the person across from him is the largest and even has the Datenseki pointed to him Ariu sits more reserved than anyone else Is he the black sheep here?

(Bachi chapter talk) Aquatic animals who've adapted to the deep sea are often translucent, for camouflage and energy conservation. There is no sunlight, so there is no need to protect from UV radiation, and making melanin would take too many precious resources than it's worth.

So, Shuurin is the Mikaboshi most suited for remaining in that underwater environment. Perhaps, in addition to blood superiority, the Mikaboshi's aversion to those who look different from their typical characteristics is out of a fear of complacency.
