Congratulations to Loliah Smith on receiving an official offer from Elon to play women's basketball!
Some of y’all are far more invested in judging people than celebrating kids. Just because you have an opinion doesn’t mean it’s informed, accurate, or even necessary! If the shoe fits, lace it up and wear it. Congrats @mallardcreektf yet again STATE CHAMPIONS!
An unprecedented decision: The NC State Board of Education's Independent Interscholastic Athletic Appeals Board has overturned the viral disqualification of Mallard Creek track star Nyan Brown in the NCHSAA 8A state championship meet.
Mallard Creek is now the co-8A state champion with Jordan High School.
The NCHSAA’s Board of Directors convened for an emergency meeting on Tuesday morning to confirm the decision, which was passed down from the Athletic Appeals Board.

🏆Champion. Nyan is an elite athlete on the national stage, but an even better young man off of it. A true champion and an outstanding student-athlete. #CreekSpeed

State record-breaker ‼️
In the NCHSAA 8A track and field state championship, Mallard Creek's star senior Nyan Brown clocked a blazing 35.96-second time in the 300-meter hurdles, breaking the state meet record previously set by Butler's Spencer Adams in 2007 (36.04 seconds).
Brown's time is the No. 5 300m hurdles mark in the United States this year.
