Update on this situation:
Today, Bitget unfroze most accounts and allowed users to withdraw funds—even with profits—even though technical support had messaged everyone overnight claiming that we were still market manipulators and so on.
However, withdrawals have been unlocked, trading has resumed, and profits have been withdrawn. A huge thank you to everyone who helped resolve this situation.

On June 4, Gate.io launched $LA perpetual futures. Within seconds, the price spiked from $0.60 to $25 — a 40x explosion. Mass liquidations followed (over $18M). Here's what happened:
The root cause? A broken index. @Gate_io built its price index using spot prices from several exchanges — including KuCoin, known for low liquidity.
On @kucoincom, $LA suddenly pumped to $50 (while it stayed near $5 everywhere else). That KuCoin price warped the index — which pushed Gate.io's futures sky-high.
🤯 Imagine having a futures position, fully collateralized — but suddenly, you need 40x more margin just because one low-liquidity exchange glitched. You're wiped out instantly. Unfuckinreal.

While the LA token was trading at $0.50–$0.60 on CEXs and DEXs, its price on Gate futures spiked to over $27. This anomaly liquidated many users, who lost their funds — and Gate refused to compensate them. Meanwhile, those who profited from the inefficiency freely withdrew. I personally lost $70,000 in this situation, and my account was hit with an additional -$100,000 overdraft. Gate reversed the artificially generated -$100,000, but chose not to refund the real $70,000 I lost.

@Gate_io has stolen my funds.
While the LA/USDT price was around $0.50 on other CEXes, Gate manipulated it and pumped it to $25. As a result, many traders were liquidated. I saw reports that around $18 million was extracted during the liquidation.
There has been no response from support. No refunds.
Gate, you have two options: restore your reputation — or become just another crypto scam.
