The 6G Resilience Summit is open. Prof Matti Latva-aho, Vice Rector for Research at #UniOulu, welcomes the room “If connectivity can be made resilient in the demanding conditions of the North, it can be made resilient anywhere.”

Prof Eduard Jorswieck, @tuBraunschweig: redundancy and resilience have a cost. The real design question is not how many paths you have, but whether that cost is weighed into the system from the start.

The screen displays a graph with text about recovery action and resource use, showing a trajectory and decision options. The emblem of the University of Southampton is visible on the slide. Finland just pushed electricity through open air. No cable. First ever nation to achieve this.
Researchers at the University of Helsinki and the University of Oulu fired high-intensity ultrasonic waves to carve an invisible channel through the air, then guided a spark down it.
Lasers handle the rest. Power-by-light beams energy to receivers where you really don't want a conductor: nuclear plants, high-voltage stations.
Radio-frequency harvesting pulls microwatts from ambient waves, enough to retire millions of disposable sensor batteries.

Who decides whether a Bitcoin payment is valid? Not a bank.
Independent nodes check it against shared rules, while miners add blocks.
That allows BTC to move without a central operator, but protecting your private keys remains your responsibility.

V insightful & informative with lots of clarity wrt different oil&gas blends [crude vs products], customer servicing, quantities both now & planned, the transport & logistics + tankers & pipeline capacity +... just the superb resilience.

Who pays when a tanker gets hit?
3 letters in the contract decide it.
Incoterms set the point where risk passes from seller to buyer:
EXW at the seller's door.
FOB, CFR and CIF once the cargo is on board at the port of loading.
DAP and DDP at the destination, before unloading. DPU after unloading.
Most people miss this: under CFR and CIF the seller pays the freight, but the buyer carries the risk from the moment the cargo is loaded.
Read the contract before you read the price.

We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

Dessa does not need a text-trained language model in the middle to formulate an answer. Its conversational capabilities were learned directly from human speech.

The 9 Rare Earth Elements Behind Modern Robotics
Robot motors and actuators run on Nd and Pr magnets, with Dy and Tb added for heat resistance. Er and Yb enable LiDAR, and Eu, Tb and Y are used in displays. A humanoid robot can use dozens of these motors, and over 97% of humanoid shipments in the first half of 2026 came from Chinese manufacturers.
