The flash floods in #Nepal resulting in tragic loss of life also highlight #concentration #risks in #electricity systems based on glacier/snow-fed rivers. The rock-ice collapse & debris flow in #Trishuli corridor impacted around 10% of Nepal's #power #generation capacity. The tragedy highlights the need for designing multi-hazard #resilience in power systems, diversify #energy generation mix to integrate #solar #EnergyStorage & possibly #WindEnergy.
