Sometimes I feel that the decision to make the Referendum "Advisory" was also their plan so that it could not be overturned if it was achieved illegally ... which Leave knew it would be - and was.
The word "advisory" misled many people into thinking that it was just that - "Advisory" ...
...but the ESG group in the @Conservatives government at the time forced the result to be ilegally treated as binding.

Getting really sick of seeing Tories wanging on about the dreadful state of the economy when 90% of the problems with our economy can be directly related to them and their stupid #brexit.
They now have all the solutions, but apparently they don't involve reversing Brexit.
Britain’s debt is now more than £3 trillion.
The Government is borrowing just to pay the interest bill.
Burnham’s EU fantasy is nothing but a distraction.
But what has gone unnoticed by the Remainer media is the fact that the UK’s dire finances would rule out rejoining!
EU rules state that national debt should be below 60% of GDP; the UK’s is approaching 100%.
And the EU’s deficit limit is 3%. The UK’s is 4.2%.
When these rules were drawn up, the concerns centred on Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain – the so-called ‘PIGS’.
Today, the UK Government pays higher interest rates on its borrowing than any of them.

🚨 For years the Telegraph was one of the loudest cheerleaders for hard Brexit and the glorious economic freedom supposedly waiting outside Europe.
Now the Telegraph is owned by a German 🇩🇪 company.
And that German owner is cutting up to 100 jobs as it restructures the paper into a “global, AI-powered” business.
Some of its most hardline Brexit voices are also reported to be among those leaving.
Perhaps there is a lesson here. Markets really are global. Capital really does cross borders.
And shouting “sovereignty” does not stop decisions about British jobs being made somewhere else.
Brexit promised control.
The ownership structure tells a rather different story.

The rewriting of 2016 needs challenging.
❌ The referendum ballot did NOT ask: “Should Britain end freedom of movement?”
It asked whether Britain should remain in or leave the EU.
Nothing about leaving the Single Market.
Nothing about the customs union.
Nothing about ending free movement.
And during the referendum prominent Brexit campaigners openly cited Norway and Switzerland as models for Britain outside the EU.
🇳🇴 Norway is in the Single Market and accepts free movement.
The Leave coalition contained several completely different versions of Brexit. The public was never asked to choose between them.
So it is simply not accurate to retrospectively turn 17.4 million Leave votes into 17.4 million votes specifically against free movement.
That interpretation came afterwards.
And if Britain is now deciding what relationship it wants with Europe, voters are perfectly entitled to decide again with the actual choices made explicit.
