👨🏼‍✈️ CAPTAIN’S CALL 👨🏼‍✈️ It’s H2H grand final week, and your captaincy call is the most important decision you’ll make. Here’s the players I’m most confident go large in Round 26:   🔵 VC – Sua Fa’alogo has a 3-round average of 96, a 5-round average of 89, and a season average of 86. He’s scored the most points in 2026 to date, and is top 5 averaging active player. The Storm have a full-strength spine for the first time in what feels like forever, and face the Broncos at the Storm’s second home ground. With all of off-field drama for the Broncos, this feels like a slam-dunk matchup for the Storm to finish the season strongly.   🔵 VC – Haumole Olakau’atu is one that’s been ticking over nicely without any attacking stats. Manly are still a mathematical chance of finals footy & will be wanting a big performance on Friday night in front of their fans to restore some faith. Olakau’atu has averaged 77 during Manly’s form slump and now faces a Dragons’ side that has locked up the wooden spoon. One try & we’re talking loops, so he’s definitely one to consider.   🟠 C – Sam Walker is a rocks or diamonds captaincy choice, but I’m convinced the Roosters had one eye on this Dolphins matchup last weekend. “The loss they needed” has been thrown around at nauseum, but with complacency thrown out the window & Tedesco returning, this reeks of a heavyweight statement. Either Walker or Tedesco are solid options & the Phins’ are still conceding points (unless they’re playing Manly).   🟠 C – Scott Drinkwater is the Hail Mary pick of the week. I apologise that both captaincy options are rocks or diamonds, so feel free to just captain Hynes if you’re boring. It’s no secret the Cowboys simply have to win to stay in the finals race, and I truly think the Tigers’ win last week would have taken a serious emotional and physical toll on them. 6-day turnaround for the Tigers vs a Cowboys side fresh off a bye. KL Iro is probably the biggest disappointment in my squad this year. In his last 10 games since round 12, he has averaged 56.5 points and only broke 80 points once (84, round 21 v Manly).   It's a frustrating stat when his base + power average is about 50 points - he just hasn't found a run of attacking stats in 2026. He's still in over 30k squads & is now only $480k.   Heading into 2027, I'll be tempering expectations of a "gun" output from KL   #NRLSuperCoach #NRL #Fantasy

Looking forward to 2027, Liam Henry is one I'm keeping a close eye on in the next few games. In a Bears' side that won't be overly SuperCoach relevant, Liam Henry will likely have a 50-60 minute role in the middle. The stats that stand out from 12 games in 2026:   1.41 PPM average. As a starter, 54mins & 73 average. Off the bench, 41 mins & 60 average. Usually a middle's PPM decays when their minutes are stretched out - Henry's stays rock solid at 1.4.   If I conservatively pin his starting price between $600k and $650k, he isn't necessarily a value pickup - but without having to compete with Isaah Yeo or Moses Leota for a role, we might see the best of Henry's SuperCoach ability in 2027.   #NRLSuperCoach #NRL #Fantasy

I put a red line through Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and his SuperCoach relevance after he averaged 46pts in 48mins in the opening 6 rounds. Fast forward to Round 20 onwards, he's averaging 85pts and 66mins per game. Tino's uptick goes beyond "minutes = points" here - his output has slowly improved from 1PPM to 1.3PPM after the Origin period. We are finally seeing Tino's SuperCoach relevance under the new scoring system, and heading into 2027, he's firming as a premium option once again. #NRLSuperCoach #NRL #Fantasy

👨🏼‍✈️ Early Armband Analysis 👨🏼‍✈️ It’s the most important SuperCoach decision you’ll make this round, so I won’t waste your time speculating on a smokey captaincy option this week. There are some genuine guns with great SuperCoach matchups, and it feels like this week’s decision could be a season-defining one. Here’s Round 25’s way-too-early captaincy analysis of the ‘Big 4’ of SuperCoach in 2026.   🔵 VC – Nathan Cleary had a 3-round average of 121 heading into Thursday night’s clash last week. Whilst it was a disappointing 43 points, Cleary has made a career of bouncing back after quiet performances. The Storm are officially out of contention & you can’t keep a champion down for too long. Scored 115pts against the Storm earlier this year. He’s worthy of a VC this week.   🔵 VC – Kalyn Ponga was the only popular captaincy option to salute in Round 24, and even then, only scraped through with 86 points. Ponga has a 5-round average of 86 and faces a Manly side whose edges are held together by PVA glue. Interestingly this was the fixture where Ponga did his hamstring earlier this year – he was on 50 points after less than 20 minutes. Consistent scorer faces a consistent conceder.   🟠 C – Nicho Hynes failed to fire in back-to-back weeks after seeming genuinely untouchable the month prior. As far as matchups go, Titans @ CBUS at 2pm Sunday afternoon is the holy grail for attacking football, and might be the circumstances Hynes needs to get the Sharks’ season back on track. If you’re going against captaining Hynes, you might want to find something else to do on Sunday afternoon for your own mental health.   🟠 C – James Tedesco would be a standout pick if he wasn’t returning from injury, and he may still be this round’s top scorer. With plenty of chefs in the kitchen to pile on the pain to the Tigers, Tedesco is a lead candidate for an early shower. It might be the case that he has 150 points before he gets that early shower, so I couldn’t talk anyone out of it.   #NRLSuperCoach #NRL #Fantasy

He’s locked into playing 80mins on the left edge - when playing that role, he averages 80 points per game & 58 points in base.
