⚠️ Protesters shut down outbound traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday afternoon before police cleared them.
The protesters started blocking traffic around 12:30 p.m. The NYPD responded and reopened the lanes by 1:15 p.m.
The demonstrators were protesting immigration enforcement and the ICE-involved shooting of a man in the Bronx on Oct. 8. The man, Oscar Belgal, was wounded, and his lawyers have called his detention “unlawful from its inception.”
