In case Twitter dies forever, you can always find my innermost thoughts at nataliebhogg.com/blog, a website fortunately not yet run by a mad billionaire...
Announcing the COSMOS-Web Lens Survey, over 100 strong gravitational lenses discovered with JWST! Survey overview: arxiv.org/abs/2503.08777
Our most spectacular lenses: arxiv.org/abs/2503.08782
Assessing how the lenses we found compare with expectations from forecasts: arxiv.org/abs/2503.08785
I'm elated to share that in October I'll be moving to Cambridge for another 4 years of postdoc! There isn't room in a tweet to describe how much this means to me; suffice to say, I'm extremely happy.

I often find myself listening to Schubert's "Winterreise" when I'm feeling a bit low. I guess it's because the thought that there's some poor bastard out there who feels even lower offers some degree of comfort.

Does astrology work? We tested the ability of 152 astrologers to see if they could demonstrate genuine astrological skill.
Here is how the study was designed and what we found (including a result that really surprised me):

Hot off the presses today is this fantastic lensing paper led by Théo Duboscq: arxiv.org/abs/2405.12091. Théo derived a minimal model for flexion in strong lens images, estimated the variance of a cosmic flexion signal and showed that its inclusion is vital in shear analyses!
