Node.js v23.6.0 is out! 🥳🎉 This release enables the flag --experimental-strip-types by default. Node.js will execute TypeScript files without additional configuration! ⚠️ This feature is experimental, has limitations and is subject to change. nodejs.org/en/blog/release/v…

Dual publishing ESM and CJS is hard. Getting the types incorrect in your package.json is disappointingly easy. If you want something to help you with both, then maybe tsup and Are the Types Wrong can help. Thanks to @atcb for his assistance with this ❤️🌻 johnnyreilly.com/dual-publis…

TypeScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @TitianCernicova @TechAtBloomberg on landing --isolatedDeclarations in upstream TypeScript 🎉 It's the start of a journey to faster type-checking at scale 🔥 An epic collab between folk in TS, Bloomberg & Google 👍 github.com/microsoft/TypeScr…

Node excitement 😉 Congrats to @JoyeeCheung at @igalia on landing **experimental** support for require(ESM) in Node 🎉 The intent is to allow more CommonJS packages to migrate to ESM without breaking compatibility. This should help eliminate the [ERR_REQUIRE_ESM] error 👍

For my PR to infer type predicates, I needed to understand TypeScript's control flow graph. So I added a graph visualization to @DavidSherret's amazing TypeScript AST Viewer. It's live now and very fun to play with! Edges go backwards in execution order. ts-ast-viewer.com/#code/GYVw…

After a lot of trouble with fixing the UMD, CJS and ESM bundle for this JS library. Axios Cache Interceptor v1.5.0 axios-cache-interceptor.js.o… Super thanks @atcb for creating arethetypeswrong.github.io 🙌

I am so proud of this presentation. And I hope everyone will soon get to actually try out this wonderful feature we at @TechAtBloomberg have been working on together with the great people at @Google and @typescript
In this talk, @TitianCernicova introduced - for the very first time - a new #TypeScript feature we are working on called “Isolated Declarations” that allows DTS files to be generated without using the type checker at all! portal.gitnation.org/content…

A perhaps-underappreciated thing in the "theory" section is how TypeScript models input and output files. A frequent wrong assumption, in the context of module specifiers, is there's a 1:1 mapping from a resolved source file on disk to a working runtime module specifier 1/
Since February, I’ve been spending part of my time rewriting TypeScript’s modules documentation, replacing years-outdated content and adding some that’s never been written down. There’s always more to write, but I’m publishing it officially today. 1/5 typescriptlang.org/docs/hand…

Next week is gonna be a fun week Soon the scourge of baseUrl, paths, and typesRoot will be purged, replaced with "how about we actually use node_modules like everyone else" (thank you @atcb and Nathan for your efforts, and of course @zkochan and contributors for pnpm)

Why does TypeScript make us use "./foo.js" extensions when importing? To me, it makes sense - it speeds up Node startup and means your TS code more closely resembles your compiled .js code. But, it can be pretty confusing on first look.
