Outrageously, the U.S. has imposed sanctions on UN human rights expert @FranceskAlbs in retaliation for urging the ICC to investigate war crimes. This is a show of force intended to intimidate and silence legal advocates against genocide. @MarkJCarney must condemn this blatant attack on the rules-based international order.
Today I am imposing sanctions on UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese for her illegitimate and shameful efforts to prompt @IntlCrimCourt action against U.S. and Israeli officials, companies, and executives.
Albanese’s campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel will no longer be tolerated. We will always stand by our partners in their right to self-defense.
The United States will continue to take whatever actions we deem necessary to respond to lawfare and protect our sovereignty and that of our allies.

61-year-old Khalida Jarrar is the highest-profile Palestinian captive to be freed as part of the ceasefire deal on Sunday.
An activist and lawmaker in the Palestinian Legislative Council for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Jarrar has spent more than six years in prison over the course of five separate imprisonments in the past decade, most of which were under administrative detention without charge.

Up to 700 Palestinian children have been kidnapped each year for decades; held hostages by an unlawful occupation who saw in them a threat in the making.
