Museum collections provide some of the most important data to help us understand and predict what is happening under a changing climate. However, our collections pre-date electronic databases by hundreds of years so how do we know what we have?

Study from Kittlesberger group at @gettysburg showing injections of DA into PAG in midshipman fish inhibit vocalizations
cc @HealeyLab @zebrafinchkt @alyndanoel @VikramGadagkar et al

ALT Figure 2 from paper. Dopamine injections to the PAG rapidly reduced stimulus-evoked vocal response probability, but did not significantly influence other vocal output parameters. Left column shows line plots of measured parameter versus time post-injection, right column shows bar plots, mean across treatment. There is a clear drop in vocal response probability post-injection of dopamine but no change in other measured parameters, that are duration, latency, and frequency.

Excited to share recent work where we use a social–ecological lens to elucidate the ways in which oft neglected negative human histories drive landscape change and influence conservation practice.
