Funny how Searchlight, whose whole deal is (ostensibly) getting Dems to be a supermajority, went all in on permitting reform, which lands on the wrong side of multiple supermajority issues (public lands, clean air/water, data centers). Maybe just ignore these guys from now on?

This framing shows how Searchlight got BAAJA so wrong. If emissions are the only thing you consider when drafting a bill, you don't either notice or don't care that the bill you wrote fucks over tribes, communities, wildlife, water, and air.

Okay, I’m going to state something plainly: even if you assume BAAJA's permit certainty provisions are horrible (they aren’t), what does that cost on emissions? ~ZERO, bc we do not cut emissions by revoking permits after the fact. We do it with standards & investment in clean.
