Similarly, experts in CSA victims rights advocacy consistently *oppose* extreme sentences for perpetrators of CSA, because it turns out "if you tell anyone about this, your daddy will go away to prison for the rest of his life" is VERY good at keeping kids silent!

it is kind of funny how during all these discussions of problematic horror movies, Friday the 13th seems to always fly under the radar, when Its probably got the most egregious stories and examples compared to other movies that get hate for much less.

If you’re having a private fireworks party then I hope you step on upturned plugs and have a warm pillow for the rest of your life. You’re scaring our pets for no reason other than you just being a selfish bell end. Go fuck yourselves

can't believe what Andy Burnham has done to this country after only a few months in power. Dead bodies in the streets, children dressed in rags begging for food at my door, supermarkets full of cobwebs. Don't vote Labour!

My take is that if you are having a heart attack and you do not consent to receive medical care by the paramedic offering it, the state should respect your right to die of a heart attack, and is under no obligation to send a different paramedic to aid you.
Meanwhile, the BBC runs articles like this - which read more like activism than journalism.
Nobody should abuse or assault ambulance staff. That is completely unacceptable.
But this article presents patients
refusing care as prejudice. Without acknowledging a crucial fact: that the paramedic is male.
Neither does it acknowledge that some women may have legitimate reasons for refusing care from a male paramedic - regardless of how he identifies - including previous experiences of sexual violence, religious beliefs or a desire for single-sex care.
Good journalism should be able to reflect both positions: that no healthcare worker should face abuse - and that female patients have legitimate sex-based privacy and dignity concerns.
The BBC has too often fallen short of its duty of due impartiality on this issue.
And by presenting one perspective while overlooking legitimate competing rights and interests, it has helped embed an ideology rather than critically examining it.
