Lots of ?s about raw milk. 1) there is no credible evidence raw milk benefits health. 2) There is evidence raw milk can harm. Small outbreaks, yes. But that's likely b/c raw milk producers are small. If raw milk were distributed nationally, there'd likely be larger outbreaks.

1/ We're seeing a concerning rise in H5 wastewater positivity in Turlock CA. Unlike previous H5 signals, @WastewaterSCAN is showing an exponential rise in H5 (and flu A) concentration that has persisted for almost a month!
.@CAPublicHealth reports another 4 probable #H5N1 #birdflu human cases today. Their release says 5 presumptive positives, but one was reported on Friday. If @CDCgov confirms all of these, it would take the state's total to 11 cases & the national total to 25 this year. Wowza.

Raw milk is popular in some circles, but can contain pathogens. That is well known. In the US , that list of pathogens is expanded and includes H5N1, a virus that is a pandemic threat. If you did not like the pandemic, don’t take a gamble for a next one: dont drink raw milk

If my technique was so poor that I got even a single lab-acquired infection in the course of culturing any virus, I wouldn't brag about it. In my lab, staff with this low level of technical competence would not be allowed to handle infectious virus at any level of containment.
I worked as a post-doc on a 2011-12 DARPA virus GoF study to understand how Influenza-A evolved under selective pressure of anti-viral therapeutics. It was shutdown after GoF studies were banned by EO fm President Obama after Ron Fouchier and his team at Erasmus Medical Center took the H5N1 flu virus and made it more contagious by serial passage in live ferrets in 2011. As part of my work I grew-up high-titer yields from cell culture (not live animal, we were barred from that) of H1N1 and H5N3 clinical isolate virus in BSL-2+ conditions. Even though I strictly adhered to protocols, I still ended up giving myself Inf-A infections several times in the first 6 months before my healthy immune system had built up high levels of protection. From experience and IMO: Anything outside of BSL-4 protocols will result in release/escape outside of containment of any high titer, highly infectious respiratory virus to those working there.

Did you know free annual checkups, and preventative screenings like mammograms, colonoscopies and pap smears didn't used to be free? This is a part of the Affordable Care Act. Pass it on.

These coronaviruses like COVID circulate in the wild all over Asia. We only know about some of them. They recombine and jump species ALL THE TIME. That’s why scientists study them- to make drugs and vaccines to protect us #COVIDー19 #SARSCoV2 #COVID_19 #COVID
