The MRF is deeply concerned with the proposed continuing resolution which would cut FY25 funding for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (@CDMRP ) by 57% from $1.5 billion to $650 million. This cut would drastically hinder the science and research community’s ongoing efforts into new treatments and therapies for #melanoma patients. We encourage lawmakers to vote NO on this legislation and to instead approve a full FY25 Defense Appropriations to fully fund the CDMRP. Melanoma research not only benefits our community, but leads to treatment advancements for the entire cancer spectrum. Since 1998, the MRF has funded over $26 million in research grants. Since FY19, melanoma has had its own line item within the CDMRP growing from $10 million to $40 million to date. Funding from the CDMRP is critical for more progress and hope for patients currently battling melanoma.
