If Hou Minghao’s portrayal of Zhao Yuanzhou in “Fangs of Fortune” was the acting that deeply impressed me—making me realize that there was such a talented, young actor in China that I had never paid attention to before, then “Divas Hit The Road 6” was the show that made me decide to seriously support him as an artist—as a human being. Repeatedly thrown into the role with the biggest responsibility, put under the toughest conditions, and stripped of celebrity privileges in foreign countries, the show easily uncovered Hou Minghao’s “true self.” (The regular show and its bonus eps are all available online, go see for yourself!) I have shared many accounts from people who have worked with Hou Minghao or witnessed him off-camera over the years that praise his kindness and thoughtfulness in the smallest details. He is an understanding and reasonable person who stands in others’ shoes, treating people with respect, valuing others’ work efforts—from the extras acting with him on set, to the backup dancers that are rehearsing with him, to the apologetic livestream staff that made a big mistake…the examples are countless. Human nature—is that something that changes over a difference in skin color? Even Hou Minghao’s entire Weibo history since his debut is made visible to the public. This is not typical of a celebrity! He has nothing to hide. One cannot put up an act for more than a decade in front of an audience with sharp eyes. As an audience, please look for yourself. Judge one’s character by what you see, not just what you hear. Thanks for reading. #HouMinghao
