IVF has long been the only solution offered to women in their mid-30s and into their 40s dealing with infertility, but it is not fit-for-purpose and can be an expensive and heartbreaking gamble. Change may be on its way economist.com/science-and-te…

Science is done by hand. We’re giving it eyes!
I’ve always been a science fanboy. After Covid, Chris and I started looking at deploying robots into labs, and we were blown away by what we found: there was no foundation for powerful, flexible automation that could actually support human scientists. Machines couldn’t see or understand the work. So we set out to build that foundation.
Here’s what we’ve been up to at @lumi_systems
We’ve built a family of ultra-lightweight, high-performance vision models that understand lab work as it happens: every action, every step, every sequence, down to the fine-grained hand movements at the bench.
They run in real time, on compact hardware, inside working labs, and turn what happens at the bench into structured data.
Why that matters: we instrument everything in the lab, the machines, the samples, the readouts, but the work itself has stayed almost entirely unseen. You can’t automate what you can’t see, and you can’t train physical AI on work that was never captured.
That data:
→ shows what really happens, not what the protocol says should happen
→ gives automation a ground truth to learn from and build on
→ creates an independent layer of understanding across humans, instruments and robots.
This is already live. Lumi is running today in CROs and in labs handling the most valuable samples there are: IVF embryos and human tissue, where there’s no second chance.
Over the coming weeks I’ll share real footage of our models at work, what we’ve learned building them, and where I think physical AI in the lab is heading.
If you build robots, run a lab, or think about the future of scientific work, let’s chat!

Finally, you can get real healthcare directly from your Claude, ChatGPT, GrokBot, Muse, or Instinct.
Just tell them to use FutureClinic. Agents welcome.
Healthcare will never be the same again.

Monetising user friction (invasive ads, dark-pattern cancels, nagging upsells) is becoming one of the first things people are avoiding with personalised software. Second time I've seen something like this in the last couple of days.
Tired of ads on podcasts?
I was, so I built “Usama’s Podcasts” for myself in a couple hours which is a near identical clone of Apple Podcasts, with all of the same functionality, except it automatically cuts out every ad read.
Personal software is going to change everything.
Right now, business models don’t have to account for stuff like this at scale because most people won’t build this.
But I do wonder how radically advertising based models are going to have to change in an era where agents browse the internet for you, so you never see an ad, and agents cut out ads from your podcasts, so you never hear an ad.
Disclaimer: I love podcasts, I understand they’re only free because of ads, I’m not trying distribute this app to anyone else. Just stunned by how easy it was to build something this effective and polished, and curious about the prisoner’s dilemma it creates for businesses and users currently monetized through ad inconvenience.

Nvidia hardware is an appreciating asset, with B300 value up 40% in 3 months.
"The B300 Summer". In July, @Kimi_Moonshot released KimiK3, expanding B300 demand and value. By late September @Supermicro "Gold SKU" supply on 4-week lead time was depleted, triggering a continued value increase, with no sign of slowing down.
Residual value for Nvidia hardware is increasing.

we started building frameOS in January. ~90 days later, our first accounts were live.
six months ago we had 16 accounts. now we're over 60,000. processing volume driven by these accounts is up 895% in the last 60 days alone.
the idea behind frameOS is simple. compliance and financial services have operated in separate silos, despite being dependent on each other.
we built them into the same system.
an account can represent a user, business, or platform. each has capabilities to move money across cards, bank accounts, and wallets, which unlock as verifications like KYC, KYB, adverse media, and geo-compliance pass.
we're powering use cases across prediction markets, creator platforms, telemedicine, vertical SaaS, ISVs, and more.
compliance shouldn't sit alongside financial infrastructure. it should be part of the infrastructure itself.

It's only a matter of time till neoclouds introduce dynamic pricing. If you are running at full capacity, by definition, you are pricing too low and leaving money on the table. As margins compress, that money will become a critical part of your revenue optimization.

Many don't know Praktika has a scholarship program.
Every company claims a mission. I wanted ours to have receipts.
1,500+ applications in 12 months.
43% need it to get a job. 32% to get into a degree. 34% say a tutor is either unaffordable or doesn't exist where they live.
55% describe the same wall: "I can read and understand. I freeze when I have to talk."
People all over the world: Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam and many many other countries.
We are doing this because I was one of them; many of us were.

1/ A common way to build a GPU forward curve: take the 6-month reserved rate and the 12-month rate, subtract the six months already priced, call the remainder the price for months 7 to 12. That subtraction doesn't work.

Congratulations to @ronitrjain and Aarav on their seed round ! @ComputeDesk is proud to power GPU pricing indexes on @liquidcompute !
I’m excited to share that today @liquidcompute emerges from stealth with a $15 million seed round. We are announcing pending applications before the CFTC for Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) status to build the first regulated orderbook to trade both cash and physically settled contracts on compute.
The reality of compute is that it is heterogeneous and cannot be stored, functioning much like electricity rather than oil. Our approach focuses on developing a highly efficient short-term market to underpin a cash-settled derivatives layer, operating similarly to PJM or ERCOT sitting below liquid derivatives markets.
Over recent months, I’m also happy to announce that Liquid Compute has collaborated with leading financial firms like Susquehanna International Group, @BGCGroupInc and @wintermute_t to facilitate liquid OTC trading for AI startups, neocloud providers, and lenders.
This round was co-led by @chemistry and @FirstMarkCap , with participation from K8 Cap, Night Capital, @ufo_holdings, @TrueBridgeCP, Brainchild Holdings (@kalvepuri), @ycombinator, and angels such as Dmitry Balyasny, @taro_f , @JdotJdotF, Ethan Lin and others from companies like CoreWeave, Jane Street, OpenAI

not anymore. writers like Amy Odell have been migrating to @beehiiv and are experiencing more success than ever before
she shared an update with her audience last week on how the move has gone. here are the highlights:
> migration took less than an hour
> ppen rate now over 60%
> overall subscriptions are up more than 20%
> paid subscribers on beehiiv are stickier
> no longer paying Substack's 10% fee
> recently launched a private community on @beehiiv
