Just spent an hour in the rain, burying the most beautiful feral cat. He was probably around 9-10 months old. Looked like a tabby/siamese cross. Hit on the road and left there. It breaks my heart to know that the first loving human touch he may have ever known was when I lowered his broken little body into the ground. I’m heartbroken and feel totally useless. There is so much I would do if I could. But as it stands I feel like I’m just an idiot trying to put a Bandaid on a severed artery. I’m so tired. 💔

Another exhibition at the Russell-Cotes Museum. Went to see “Waves of Change” - about Jewish life in Bournemouth - but it is a year late as it was postponed from 2025 for “security” reasons). Absolutely fascinating & highly recommended. russellcotes.com/event/waves…

And there we have it, folks. The Irishman who went viral for threatening a Jewish couple French supermarket was found guilty of condoning crimes against humanity and making antisemitic death threats. This is what too many Irish people on this site, including an Irish Times, journalist, spread conspiracies about. This is what too many Irish people condoned, justified, and, in some cases, even lauded. What is notable here, as Daniel says, is that the Irishman’s name has been revealed as Patrick — Paddy. Will we see any apologies from the Irish people who lied that the Jewish victims were using ‘Paddy’ as an ‘anti-Irish slur’? Sadly I just do not expect this. Because that would require an integrity that they simply do not possess.
Patrick, the Irish man who told a Jewish woman that he wish Hitler had finished the job, has been convicted of condoning crimes against humanity and of making death threats. Remember all the people here accusing the Jewish victim of using the name Paddy as a slur, well now we know she was telling the truth the whole time. Assuming she was lying in the first place is clear racism against Jews. But unfortunately I highly doubt most of them will be doing any introspection on the matter.

🇫🇷 🇬🇧The V1 was heading toward a hospital. The Free French pilot chasing it was eight days away from his wedding. On August 3, 1944, Jean Maridor intercepted a German flying bomb threatening Benenden Hospital in Kent. The 23-year-old Free French ace flew Spitfires with No. 91 Squadron of the RAF. Credited with five aerial victories, he had also become a skilled V1 hunter. His final interception would bring his tally to seven flying bombs destroyed individually. Four years earlier, he had escaped France to keep fighting. Shooting down a V1 carried a deadly risk: get too close, and its exploding warhead could destroy the fighter pursuing it. There was another way. A pilot could slide his wingtip beneath the V1’s wing, disturbing the airflow and tipping the flying bomb off balance, without necessarily touching it. According to the Le Havre municipal archives, Maridor tried to tip the "doodlebug" but could not bring it down. With the hospital threatened, he turned to his cannons. He closed to less than 50 meters and fired. The V1 exploded. The blast destroyed his Spitfire. France’s Order of Liberation records his final attack as a deliberate sacrifice to save the hospital. Before the war, Maridor worked as a barber while learning to fly and studying to qualify for military pilot training. He earned his first pilot’s certificate at sixteen. Eight days after his final mission, he was due to marry his fiancée, Jean Lambourn, a serving officer in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force. He was twenty-three. They never had their wedding. Remember Jean Maridor. Follow @Vanguard_WW2 for more stories worth remembering.

Gen X, after growing up without the internet, living on student grants or dole money as young adults and eating 2 meals a day of the poorest quality tinned food in digs without electricity, watching the media talk about power cuts, internet blackouts and food shortages

I thought (knew, actually) that recent Tory governments were laughable, but we have reached a new peak (& likely not the last) of idiocy & incompetency.
Chancellor John Healey will remove import taxes on marmalade, gherkins and more than 100 products in a move to give families "breathing space" with the cost of living in the Budget. Peter Ruddick told #BBCBreakfast about other changes that will impact motorists, carers and self-employed fathers bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6d9…

W 2016 roku Land Rover zabił klasycznego Defendera. Kiedy z taśmy w Solihull zjeżdżał ostatni prawilny Defender, Jim Ratcliffe – szef giganta chemicznego Ineos i fanatyk off-roadu – siedział ze znajomymi w londyńskim pubie The Grenadier.

Every MP should have their sons & daughters join the Armed Forces “pour encourager les autres”. No children? Volunteer to fight.

Fremdenregiment (4ᵉ RE) feiert. 🎂🥳👍
