The discussions focused on strengthening development cooperation, exploring opportunities to finance new projects in Kenya, and reviewing BADEA’s existing project portfolio, including prospects for further development and enhanced development impact. The meeting reflects BADEA’s commitment to strengthening its development partnerships with African countries and expanding its contribution to sustainable economic development across the continent.

The delegation of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by H.E. Mrs. Carla Alexandra Louveira, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Mozambique, to finance Phase II of the Angoche Fishing Port Construction Project. The project aims to strengthen fisheries infrastructure, enhance food security, and create employment opportunities, contributing to improved livelihoods and sustainable economic development in the project area. The agreement represents a continuation of BADEA's development efforts in Mozambique and reflects its commitment to supporting the country's economic and social development priorities. The Statement of Intent paves the way for a proposed USD 50 million trade finance facility from BADEA to CBZ Bank, aimed at expanding access to financing for eligible businesses and supporting trade activities and productive sectors in Zimbabwe, subject to the completion of the required procedures and documentation. Ms. Louise Pierrette Mvono, Minister of Planning and Prospective of the Gabonese Republic, on the sidelines of the World Bank Group and IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand. During the meeting, the Gabonese side presented the National Development Plan 2026–2030, highlighting its key priorities and strategic projects. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and mobilize financing and investment to support its implementation. The two sides also discussed the possibility of presenting the Plan at a roundtable bringing together investors and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), with a view to exploring financing, investment and partnership opportunities in support of priority projects.
