I just donated $100 to the @internetarchive. archive.org/donate Did you know they've been hosting the Stack Exchange data dump since 2014? stackoverflow.blog/2014/01/2…
Thank you, Benjamin! We deeply appreciate your donation of $102.50. Your generosity helps us promote Universal Access to All Knowledge. Question: Why did you donate today? Answer: Thank you for all your work, but a particular thank you for hosting the Stack Exchange data dump!

Ben is the longest tenured employee at Stack Overflow and he joined because of unicorns. It was his first developer job and he loved it. Then one he realized he might be an asshole to work with. New @corecursive episode is out and its Ben's story. Starting from coding side projects to working on one of the highest traffic web sites out there. And ending with a reflections on personal character and the perils of engineering driven orgs that frankly I needed to hear.

A four-panel meme image of the "Guy Incognito" scene on the Simpsons, inside and outside Moe's Bar. Guy: "Greetings good people, might I attempt to post a link?" Moe: "We will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter." Guy: "Social media? What is that? My name is Maast O'Don." Homer: "Oh my god! This man is my exact double."

In memoriam Fred Brooks, we're currently all getting proof that *removing* people from a project isn't necessarily helpful, either.

It's true, we all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place.

If you're thinking about running a Mastodon instance for your organization and need some experienced help, you might want to talk to @aurynn. Her work in running a major instance and scaling it up while being very transparent about the struggles is nothing short of impressive.

Call for participants - for my Graduate program, I am conducting a research study about creativity in teams. If you’re eligible, I would appreciate it if you took 10 minutes to take my online survey. If you aren’t eligible, please pass it along! sesp.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/f…

And here's the link back to the beginning of the thread: xitter.cf/balpha/status/15903273… Btw, Mastodon has a feature to prevent long threads from cluttering up everyone's timeline 😁
