I like that you can buy an @AxieInfinity digital collectible with Ether, Dai, Loom, or even w/ USD using a credit card
In the Ethereum economy, any asset can compete as a money. The goal is to get more users into the crypto economy in the first place

I think Lightning is cool, but will still have poor UX because BTC doesn't have a stablecoin
The BTC community has been conditioned to hold, hold, hold. Everyone remembers the Bitcoin Pizza. Who wants to spend their digital gold?
Dai in a L2 payment channel? Different story

I think we'll see the Augur/Veil two-step play out again & again:
Step 1: A permissionless financial protocol is created, but it's hard to use (Innovator stage)
Step 2: A centralized entity builds a UX on the protocol, smoothing edges & making it useful (Early Adopter stage)

People forget that Dai is basically just volatility stabilized Ether
Every Dai is backed by about $2.5 worth of Eth
Dai demand = Eth demand
Maker has quietly turned Ether into a price stable currency
And it's about to be available for mainstream on Coinbase

Prime example of how even sophisticated investors are struggling to value smart contract platforms beyond basic metrics.
When you dig deeper into the fundamentals that measure #ethereum economic activity (e.g. $ value of collateral locked in SCs)—a different picture emerges.
1/ $ETH is down to $82. Down 94% from its January highs. Cheap? Buying opportunity? Did prices drop more than fundamentals? How did that happen? Let's take a look.

Its difficult to overstate how much @ConsenSys has contributed to putting Ethereum where it is now. The developer tools and infrastructure projects are only the most obvious signs. As with any large entity in this space, many enjoy criticising it, but the ecosystem is grateful
Really not understanding the “@ConsenSys has done nothing” narrative prompted by @forbes. We basically rely on @infura_io while they are vocal we need more options. @metamask_io is used by ALL. Sure some spokes are superrandom but those 2 alone do so much...

This is a level of unpreparedness that should appall us all. There are no two sides to climate research, so a reference to that implies you know absolutely nothing and have given the subject zero thought. esquire.com/news-politics/a2…

Confession: I'd much rather hold ETH than BTC once we've bottomed, and reversed, from both a fundamental & technical perspective.

Mr. Trump has to go. The facts show he has broken the law repeatedly. But the backdrop—away from the investigations—shows an incompetent and dangerous president failing at every level. He literally can't keep a Chief of Staff. He must go ASAP for the health of America.

Excellent overview of Uniswap. This is not just another DEX
Uniswap is public good for asset exchange on the Ethereum network. No middleman, No token, just smart contracts
It operates & grows autonomously through a simple incentive model that rewards liquidity providers

Remember DeFi's netscape moment? Keep an eye on protocol aggregators like @InstaDApp that add UX mashups to financial smart contracts. Today it's a loan (Maker) + trade (Kyber) mashup...tomorrow these might compete w / your bank

Ether + Maker is best viewed as a system that competes with the financial stack
ETH = SoV asset
MKR = central bank governance
DAI = stable currency
Maker credit system = loans
DSR = savings account
Base money functions available as primitives on the Ethereum economic computer

The report assumes miners don't use less renewable electricity than regional averages and admits there's no way of proving what the miners actually use. Considering they probably go for the cheapest and likely dirtiest available, this number could be nowhere near the real number.
