when your boyfriend said "i need you" and just starts fucking eating you after a misunderstanding that lasted two minutes
we’re already in an era where BL is becoming more widely accepted, where genuine LGBTQ+ relationships are getting more representation, and yet GMMTV seems to be taking a step backwards. like, how many bromance projects are we getting in the 2027 lineup alone? and honestly, i can’t help but think that some fans have played a part in making this happen. companies saw how profitable these pairings, fanservice, teasing, and endless what-ifs could be, and now they’re seeing just how far they can push it without actually giving the audience the representation they’ve been asking for.
look at China, for example. we all understood why bromance was the route they had to take because of censorship, but look at how things are progressing now. we’re seeing BLs being released left and right, exploring stories and relationships that previously couldn’t be openly shown. meanwhile, GMMTV seems to be going in the opposite direction, giving us more stories that stop right before actually committing to what they’re clearly hinting at.
and that’s what makes this so frustrating. we’re not asking for anything unreasonable. we’re asking for genuine BL stories, actual LGBTQ+ representation, and the continuation of something that helped build the audience and support these companies in the first place. if these upcoming bromance projects succeed, what makes you think they won’t keep making more of them? at some point, we have to stop rewarding the bare minimum and pretending that implications are enough.
we shouldn’t have to keep settling for almost. WE WANT THE ACTUAL STORIES, NOT JUST THE POSSIBILITY OF THEM. #GMMTVNEXT
BROMANCE IS HOMOPHOBIA! For some time now, we’ve been witnessing the growing presence of bromance in the company’s lineups. Today, everything became even clearer: the number has TRIPLED.
We will use our voices to push the hashtag #StopBromanceGMMTV. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS. We don’t want implications and teasing. We want genuine LGBTQ+ relationships represented on screen.
WE are the customers. Production companies exist to meet the demands of THE AUDIENCE that consumes, supports, and sustains their productions. WE ARE NOT OBLIGATED to accept whatever they choose to give us, let alone applaud setbacks like this.
Either you take action NOW, ENGAGE, AND DEMAND CHANGE, or don’t be surprised when half of next year’s lineup is filled with stories that remain stuck in the realm of “what if”, with no courage to embrace what they keep hinting at.
Enough disrespect toward fans who wait YEARS for these productions, only to receive stories that refuse to deliver what they promise, while BL productions are being reduced in number and offered in a rather peculiar and limited quality. And that’s when they get anything at all. How many BL ships were left out today? The trend is clear, and there’s only one direction this is heading.
WE WILL NOT FUND INVISIBILITY. We will not accept this setback, because WE are the ones who get to speak up. WE are the customers. MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD. #GMMTVNEXT
