This clown thinks takfirism began in Nigeria around 1970. History says otherwise. As far back as 1804, Dan Fodio criticised the religious practices of certain Hausa rulers, sometimes describing them in terms of paganism and unbelief. Although takfir was not the sole basis of his jihad, these debates clearly predate the 1970s. How do you define that? Was it terrorism? Scholarly and pilgrimage connections between West Africa and Arabia also predate Sheikh Gumi by centuries. The relationship between northern Nigeria and the Arabian Peninsula cannot be reduced to Dan Fodio, Gumi, Izala or any modern movement.. Shirk and kufr have existed since the time of the Prophet ﷺ. However, applying these concepts to people and societies requires knowledge and sound scholarly judgment.
Islam in Nigeria thrived for centuries through unity, scholarship and Adab, untill the introduction of this terrorist sect funded by petro-dollar. You started the labelling of ofher Muslims as infidels. You divided Muslims from praying together. You introduce hatred between Muslims and their Christian neighbours. You think we don’t know this?

The problem be say extremism to you might mean praying five times a day. Because why would you be triggered by a person saying Islam is the most important thing in their life.
All it takes is for one extremist to come into power in the SW and we are finished. Till today Yerima altered and birthed mordern day extremism and sharia in Nigeria. 1 man. Lets keep treating extremism with kid gloves.

It is worth understanding that Islamic identity and affiliation are more nuanced than simply claiming not to belong to any sect. It is like confusing a madhhab with a broader religious identity. Sunni and Shia represent the two major branches of Islam, while Izala and the Tariqa represent different movements and traditions within the wider Muslim community. Izala emerged as a reform movement committed to spread Sunnah and challenge practices of innovations. Understanding these distinctions requires knowledge, nuance and a willingness to look beyond labels.

Yusuf Buhari minded his business throughout his dad's administration. One accident on a power bike and the South was shouting, not even sympathizing, they never cared whether he was dead or alive. Their main problem was where he got the money to buy a ₦15 million bike 😂😂 Today, Seyi's convoy is worth ₦4 billion, moving around like he is the VP and nobody is moving a muscle.

Nothing you say will necessarily make non Muslims doubt their beliefs any less or accept your claims about Islam. Let everyone practise their faith freely, and focus on reminding Muslims who may be straying from the teachings of Islam. Guidance belongs to Allah and our responsibility is to convey the message with wisdom.

This is a video of my son, Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Hassan, from one of my visits to Kuwait, where we met Sheikh Muhammad Jamil al-Nuristani, hafidhahullahu ta'ala. Meeting him left a real impression on my son. I explained to him the status of the scholar and what a privilege it was to be able to put my questions to him. Among the things I asked about was Muhammad ibn al-Wazir al-Yamani. I had been reading his works, and I asked the Sheikh about some of them and about what I had come across in them, as well as about Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and some of the statements of Sa'd al-Din al-Taftazani. My son sat there listening to the whole conversation. When we left, he said to me, "Dad, I really enjoyed being with the Sheikh. It motivated me." I share this, my brothers and sisters, because it is so important to bring your children along on your journeys in seeking knowledge. Let them see the scholars and the people of knowledge. Let them see you, their father or mother, sitting as a student and learning from the ulama. That leaves a deeper mark on them than any lecture or two you could give them yourself.

It’s extremely unfortunate, and what particularly annoys me is how it betrays the very intellectualism they so proudly profess. There is something profoundly contradictory about claiming intellectual independence while uncritically treating liberalism and secularism as superior moral frameworks through which Islam must be evaluated. Even by the standards of critical thinking they claim to hold in such high esteem, this is intellectually regressive. They’ve elevated the philosophical assumptions of liberalism and secularism into supposedly universal moral truths, without subjecting those assumptions to the same scrutiny they so eagerly apply to Islam. True intellectualism requires the willingness to interrogate one’s own premises, examine the foundations of competing moral frameworks, and distinguish between what is demonstrably true and what one has merely been conditioned to regard as self-evident. And somehow, they mistake this intellectual deference for independent thought.
Some Muslims find the core teachings of Islam increasingly extreme. This is unfortunate as liberalism and secularism have deeply influenced many people’s minds. May Allah strengthen our faith.
