Senate President Win Gatchalian says the Senate will remove 295 infrastructure projects worth P8.8 billion from the proposed 2027 national budget.
He explains in a statement that these projects are missing necessary documentation from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Gatchalian: "The Senate is committed unequivocally in weeding out unsubstantiated line items, including those lacking concrete and verifiable technical support, to ensure that every item in the final version is shovel-ready. Unverifiable line items will not receive a single peso of public funding." @ABSCBNNews

HONTIVEROS SEEKS PENALTIES FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN POLITICS
Sen. Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday, October 21, has filed a bill seeking to define and penalize violence against women in politics, including physical, psychological, sexual, economic and technology-facilitated abuse.
Senate Bill No. 2567 also proposes protective measures for women in politics, addressing forms of online abuse such as coordinated harassment, threats, gender-based disinformation and AI-generated sexual images.
