On capitalism:
If you claim that the rich only get richer cause they got a spring board... That they started out with generational wealth...
It begs a new question.
So you were born with little, did you at least add a little more? Or is multiplication only possible with plenty?
Scripturally it flips on the light bulb about faithful in little and faithful in much and the parable of the talents.
The person who got 1 (born with little) complained and whined, just like many of you are doing and the person who got 10 multiplied it.
The question wasn't that you got one it was why didn't you add one more?
I've said it to a few people...
If you're born poor (that is without capital and land and your only factor of production is labor) then sharpen your labor to a hilt
But they've convinced you that school is a scam.
I insist that on this side of eternity, capitalism is the superior form of resource allocation.
Imperfect but superior to all others.
Finally, you don't judge a man by where he is, you judge him from where he started.
It would be foolish to be born poor and expect to multiply to a Dangote, it's not impossible but that's an outlier.
But it's okay to expect that if your parents weren't educated and then they ensured that you were educated, they added one more.
What would you add? That's how generational wealth is built
2027 elections would be very very interesting if Atiku is not able to return to the polls.
That just leave BAT and PO as the major contenders.
With this electricity situation, BAT may be in for a "shock"
What's most important is that whoever wins must understand not to take us back to subsidy regime
Atiku was the one who risked doing that the most, PO is on and off, changes his response regularly.
If the show is Solo leveling, I said from Episode 1 that that it was rubbish, I don't know how you guys are just seeing it.
Hunter x Hunter and Solo leveling are rubbish shows, all action but weak plot.
They give all anime a bad name, imagine someone trying to watch anime for the first time and accidentally end up with this.
They'll think this is what I keep making noise about
I want to create a community of like minds where I can share some of the things I learn while reading the Bible.
There are somethings I see and I know if I share publicly it will be debate and confusion 🤣
I think the mainstream verses we debate are lightweight, there are things I read and I have to double check what I'm reading🤣🤣🤣
There's something I call the common wealth of CCI, I say it carefully so I'm not misunderstood
I see a common trend in members, where "everyone is doing well"
I'm not saying that attending the church would mean you become richer...
I'm saying I think and see in patterns and I've seen this one.
If I were an FMCG leader for an upcoming manufacturing firm in Nigeria today I would do three things
1. Confirm beyond reasonable doubt the soundness of Bokku Marts model, investment, expansion plan and potential risks
2. Find a way to permanently secure a spot on their shelves, even if it means discounting for future reward
3. I would peg my investment to theirs, build capacity to supply their future need
I have a great hunch that if they're successful, anyone that does these would dwarf all the top FMCG players Revenue in less than a decade.
Everyone thats worked with me since circa 2024, knows I've said this repeatedly
What is the most important reason to pray?
I've heard it taught many ways and none of them were as compelling as what I've learned in recent times.
I've heard it taught that you should pray to build yourself up in the spirit, or that you should pray because the devil is hard at work, or a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian 🙄 (I personally dislike this one the most)
All these reasons are not (totally) wrong but they're secondary and if they're your motivation to pray, I show you a more excellent reason.
The relationship between the Christian God and his followers is very similar to the relationship between a husband and wife -refer to Ephesians 5:31-33 and this is where my understanding for prayer comes from.
Devotion (commitment) is the greatest proof of love. Devotion is predictable, frequent and consistent actions that demonstrate love (irrespective of feelings).
A man who picks his wife up from work everyday ought to do so because he loves her and this is one of the ways he demonstrates it not because he's scared that other men are working hard to try to get his wife by picking her up from work.
So you can see two men do the same action but have different motivations.
The stronger motivation for prayer is that I love Jesus and I demonstrate it by keeping times of focused communication with him, not because I need help, protection or "building up" all of these are by-products, the same way it is a by-product that other men won't have the opportunity to pick the wife in my example.
Where it starts to fall apart is when she gets her own car, the man whose motivation is wrong suddenly stops devotion, a man with the right motivation gets creative and invents ways to demonstrate his love.
In this regard it can be likened to Christians who travel abroad and start to question why they should pray since most of their needs are met.
The problem was the motivation.
Devotion is a litmus test, to check if you really love God as you say you do and if not, an opportunity to evaluate your faith.
It's honest to say, maybe I don't love Jesus the way I think and say I do, what can I do about it?
Everyone who works in FMCG Marketing or sales in Nigeria would understand this analogy.
You are looking at your sales trend in 12 months and the months when you have strong sales are the months you ran a promotion, the months where you didn't run a promo it seemed like you almost lost the business
So it seems like you don't have a real business without promos
This is exactly how they've run Naij and why I keep insisting we can't keep running on subsidies.
We must get the real base and build organic wealth.
Subsidies are to countries what promotions are to brands. Unsustainable in the long run but no one has the balls to call it out and so every manager (President) just kicks the can down the road for the next person.
For some businesses they never recover, never learn to compete and eventually check out
The person that would correct it would be someone with a strong sense of self, right definition of success and failure and does not care to be disliked.
Leading Nigerians is a thankless sport, you have to drag them kicking and screaming.
Scripture in Romans 8:12 talks so casually about living above sin as though it's not something people have deep struggles with.
The way Apostle Paul speaks about it, It's like he's oblivious to the struggles every human being faces.
But we know that he isn't, because in just the previous chapter (Romans 7: 15-18) he records his own personal struggles and frustrations with trying to live above sin.
What catches my eye in chapter 8 is that he mentions the tool you can use to live above sin, he describes it as "the power of the spirit" and if we're being honest, that is the vaguest, most abstract thing you can tell someone trying to live honestly and righteously, especially a Christian in the 21st century.
If I understand what the book is saying (I think I do), there are two powers that influence human action and here's how to strengthen and weaken them.
1. The power of sin - strengthened by constantly worrying about laws and regulations. The power of sin is strengthened by our knowledge of the law. So ironic but it's true. That because I know better, I'm more at risk (Refer to Romans 7:7-13).
Another day I'll explain how this connects to the tree of knowledge of good and evil in Genesis.
2. The power of God's spirit - strengthened by focusing/thinking on
a. My relationship with God
b. Hoping (holding mental images with my imagination) that what He has promised about salvation would happen.
Two of such promises are:
1. A promise that human beings and the rest of creation would be free from suffering death and decay - refer to Romans 8:23-25 (I have a thread about a world without decay, I'll look for it) and repost
2. A promise of resurrection from the dead refer to Romans 8:9-11
3. A promise of glory - this one is harder to teach you how to imagine, but I imagine (pun intended 😂) that you're well on your way if you do point 1 and 2
This is as close to understanding these texts as I've come, I'll share more they better I understand.
