Announcing a profound partnership between National Design Studio and Sec Kennedy, Sec Rollins, CMS Administrator Oz, and FDA Commissioner Makary to bring the new Dietary Guidelines to life in the form of the New Pyramid. Shocking how misleading the one hanging in my second grade classroom was. Even more surprising would have been to tell my younger self one day I’d help redesign it. Eat whole foods, and enjoy realfood.gov

Today, under the leadership of President Trump, Secretary Kennedy, and Secretary Rollins, we announce the most significant shift in federal nutrition guidance in American history. For the first time, we're calling out the dangers of highly-processed foods and rebuilding a broken system from the ground up with gold-standard science and common sense.
National Design Studio is proud to introduce realfood.gov. 🥦

73% of "designers" will be obsolete by 2026.
The other 27% stopped calling themselves designers.
Here's why:

design engineers shouldn't do visual design
if you need good visuals - hire a designer
design engineering isn't about creating the design - it's something else entirely
it's about how your product feels to use and whether users actually enjoy the experience
it's about fixing the tiny frustrations that make people want to quit
it's about predicting what users will do next and making those things obvious
that's what design engineering is - not making another pretty landing page, leave that to designers
but here's the thing - design engineers still need to understand design principles and know how to make things look decent. it's part of the job, but it's more about having good taste and knowing what works rather than creating pixel-perfect mockups. you need to spot when something feels off and fix it without waiting for a designer to tell you what's wrong
the best design engineering is mostly invisible. users shouldn't notice your work, they should just feel like everything works the way they expected it to

The thing about Elon’s alleged political power is that it mainly flows from just saying things out loud that are obviously true.

the opportunities in AI right now are making the power of the models easily accessible and intuitive
the majority of the power is still only accessible to developers
