Sources: Maryland coach Mike Locksley has been dismissed. Maryland dropped to 2-5 on Saturday after a last-second loss to Rutgers. Locksley is 39-54 overall at Maryland, including his interim stint in 2015. Maryland is on a bye this week.

Locksley did a great job carrying the program through a really difficult time when he took over. You could tell how much coaching Maryland meant to him. But years of fan frustration eventually turned into apathy for many. It was past time for a move to be made.
