Funny how Material design is nothing like a material at all anymore while Apple literally invented a new material for their UI

The irony of AI image gen is that designs will look and feel a lot more « human » because creating using traditional art style just became much more accessible so we won’t have to recycle the same gradients and flat illustrations over and over again anymore.

Weird that there's no app for renovations projects. A mix of Figma & Notion, you collaborate on your floor-plan, view materials, paints, layouts. Track open items, discuss, make decision, calculate budget as you go. With a marketplace to buy products. I expected this to exist.

A content editor licence type in @figma would be game changer

With the rise of zoom meetings and the influencer economy there’s probably a very fun startup to build where anyone could get sponsored and do adverts on there videocall backgrounds with affiliate links just like you see on youtube videos 😄

Now that all music is distributed through subscriptions based platforms, how do you gift music to someone? Sharing a link doesn’t have the same effect as it used to be when offering a CD or vinyl.

I really hope that when you die, you get a recap, like stats and all. And a ranking of how you performed compared to your alternate lives, ability to dive into the branching points and watch other lives. Would definitely pay for that, even if it’s the afterlife premium package.

Is there any services that let you subscribe to very well curated @X feed? I wouldn’t mind paying a fee to impersonate someone else’s feed with great design content, another with great art content, etc.

Storytelling seems to be a lost design skills to the profit of technical user stories

A general design hack is not having enough time to design a complicated solution, so you go for simplicity instead

I cannot imagine the amount of work that this @SlackHQ redesign has been 🤯 My first impressions so far is that it looks great but the shadows are too distracting. Hopefully I’ll get used to it.

Should it still be called « material design » if it has become all flat?

I think sometimes « because it’s cool » is a good reason to design things a certain way and move away from a design system
